SACROSPINOUS LIGAMENT Short thick band deep to sacrotuberous ligament. Attached to ischial spine laterally Sacrococcygeal juntion medially ISHIOFEMORAL LIGAMENT

THESE LIGAMENTS CONVERT GREATER N LESSER NOTCHES INTO FORAMINA OF HIP BONE

STRUCTURES PASSING THROUGH GREATER SHIATIC FORAMEN

FORMED By greater sciatic notch of hip bone and Sacrotuberous & sacrospinous ligaments.

PROVIDES an exit from pelvis into gluteal region. The piriformis fills the foramen almost completely. Above the piriformis

• PROVIDES an enterance into perineum from gluteal region.

• presence enables nerves n blood vesels that have left the pelvic through the greater sciatic foramen above the pelvic floor to enter the perineum below the pelvic floor..

• Tendon of obturator internus• Pudendal nerve• Internal pudendal vessels• Nerve obturator internus• Origin of two gemelli muscles
