The Final Destination is a typical thriller film as it holds suspense, tension and has a general theme of a twisted plot.

• At the very beginning, it starts off with heavy rock music to fast moving cars. The cars themselves are already have a sense of danger to them as they are so fast, but along side the music it adds tension to what might happen next.

• Important things are emphasised, such as the bench snapping, which could later lead to something a lot more serious.

• When the oil spills, suspending music is played to give off the impression that this also could lead to something much worse. It also makes the audience realise it more, if there is dramatic music playing.

• When the first part of the accident happens, like the car flipping, the screams are very loud and no music is being played, this emphasises the screams and shows people are shocked and scared.

• The beginning of the film takes place on a race course during the day, so the lighting is very natural.

• The natural lighting gives off the impression that the event that occurs is natural, in the sense that no one is making it happen, as in a monster or something super natural.

• The natural lighting doesn’t change throughout the first scene, even when the man realises it was his imagination, the lighting doesn’t change, therefore showing that the dream or foretelling of the future won’t change.

• When the cars are driving, there are a lot of close ups of the cars in detail, maybe to suggest something might happen.

• There are some point of view shots, to emphasise the speed of the cars and to suggest what might happen if they are going so fast.

• There are also close ups in certain things, like the bench breaking and the ceiling cracking to make a big deal out of something very small, to show that something could occur to make those little things a much bigger problem and to show they’re important.

• There are lots of close ups on little things that could be very significant to an accident e.g the screws on fence unscrewing, the oil leaking and the screw driver becoming un done.

• Until the accident occurs and besides the cars, everything is rather slow, but still building up to something. But when the action/accident happens, everything speeds up within the editing. Everything is becoming much more fast pace.

• During the action, everything is linked; scrambling people, cars flipping and fire. The fast editing gives off that everything is chaotic and manic ion a scramble to save lives.

• A lot of CGI is obviously used to emphasise the accident and make it seem action packed.
