Red. {Rouge. Tinto. Rosso. Rot.}

Cabernet Blends & Red Blends2007 HahnMeritage-Santa Lucia Highlands, California 8.99 29

Meritage (pronounced like heritage) combines “merit,” reflecting the quality of the

grapes, with “heritage,” which recognizes the centuries-old tradition of blending, long

considered to be the highest form of the winemaker’s art. These two characteristics

are screaming at you as soon as the cork is popped! Brisk tannins and a vicious mouth

feel define this Merlot/ Cabernet/ Petit Verdot/ Malbec/ Cab Franc blend.

2007 SteltznerVineyards-Paso Robles, California 33

Stag’s Leap fruit for this price? It is true (we don’t joke about such things) This

proprietory blend of Cab Sauv/Merlot/ and Cab Franc shows characteristics of minty

violets, and ripe blackberries. The velvety tannins and beautiful texture stick around

for a long and balanced finish.

2007 MarquisPhilipsSara’sBlend-South Eastern Australia 9.79 35

At the risk of making this the only red wine we sell, all I have to say is WOW! WOW!

WOW! WOW! Articulate? Perhaps not. Accurate? Oh yes. A traditional Bordeaux

blend this wine delivers the most intense flavor and still manages to be as smooth

and silky as any fine wine. This is what the French want to achieve when they lay

their wine down for 15 years, and somehow the folks from down under get it right

from the start.

2005 ChateauLaBlanqueGrandCru- Saint Emilion, France 63

80% Merlot, 10% Cab, and 10% Cab Franc, only the best wines of St. Emilion may

lay claim to the title ‘Grand Cru’. This wine from the acclaimed 2005 vintage is both

hearty and supple. Aged in oak it is well balanced with deep, ripe fruit flavors and a

hint of toasting.

2006 SignaterrabyBenziger,“ThreeBlocks”- Sonoma Valley, California 75

Structured. Influential. Proud. Proof of this is displayed in every drop of this wine.

Using vineyards tucked away in the Eastern Foothills of The Mayacamas Mountains

the Benziger Family has created a Cab/Merlot blend with almost sweet tannins. Dark

Chocolate, plum and coffee on the nose give way to layered flavors of currant, plum

and coffee.
