Friday, July 6 - VENICEVenice, built on 717 islands with 150 canals and 400 bridges, invites idleness and strolling. Visit the Piazza San Marco where vacationers sit at the terraces of famous cafes, sample old world delicacies and listen to music. Pause for pictures of the magnificent St. Mark’s Cathedral and the rose-colored Doge’s Palace. Meander along the narrow streets and over bridges or perhaps hire a gondola for a memorable ride under the Bridge of Sighs. Return to the spa town for dinner and overnight.

Saturday, July 7 - CROATIAToday’s journey takes you eastward through northern Italy and then south into the Istrian Peninsula of Croatia. Once part of the Hapsburg Empire, Croatia was absorbed into socialist Yugoslavia after World War II. The country declared independence in 1991 and became a member of the European Union in 2013. Arrive in Poreč, a seaside town fast becoming a favorite resort destination. Tonight’s dinner is accompanied by folkloric entertainment.

Sunday, July 8 - ISTRIAN PENINSULAYour morning is free to enjoy the hotel’s pools or private beach on the Adriatic Sea. Afternoon excursion to the fishing village of Rovinj. Explore the lovely port area and browse in shops filled with artisan handicrafts. Perhaps climb the narrow, cobbled streets to the church overlooking the town for a wonderful view of the Adriatic. Perform an evening concert before returning to Poreč for overnight.

Monday, July 9 - ISTRIAN PENINSULAThis morning explore the historic Roman town of Poreč. Afternoon visit to a nearby cave system for exploration among the stalagmites and stalactites. Transfer to the city of Pula for dinner and an evening concert. Return to Poreč for overnight.

Tuesday, July 10 - WESTENDORFThe awe-inspiring Alps dominate the landscape on your journey into Austria. Arrive in Westendorf, a picturesque village in the Austrian Alps. Tonight, take part in a spirited Tirolean Folk Fest filled with song and dance indigenous to the area.

ITINERARYThursday, June 28 - Saturday, June 30 Independent travel to East Stroudsburg University, East Stroudsburg, PA for pre-tour orientation sessions. Three days of intensive rehearsals culminate in a Farewell Concert for family and friends on the evening of June 30.

Sunday, July 1 - JFK AIRPORT - ROMEMorning orientation sessions. Afternoon transfer to JFK Airport, NY for transatlantic flights to Europe.

Monday, July 2 - ROMEArrival in Rome, Italy. Transfer to the city center for an afternoon guided tour of the ancient capital. View the Pantheon, standing just as it had when rebuilt by Hadrian during AD 117-125. See the Roman Forum, where Julius Caesar addressed the Roman senators, and Palatine Hill, where the Imperial Palace overlooked ancient Rome. Dinner and overnight in Rome.

Tuesday, July 3 - ROME This morning, visit Vatican City and see St. Peter’s Basilica and square. On your afternoon tour of the Colosseum, stand where Romans watched countless gladiators, beasts and others “entertain” the masses. This evening’s dinner includes musical entertainment.

Wednesday, July 4 - EMILIA ROMAGNATravel north through the lovely Italian countryside and into the lush landscape of the Emilia Romagna region. This region, one of the most prosperous in Italy, is known for its culinary delights and as the home of Ferrari, Lambourghini, Maserati and Ducati. Tonight, perform your first European concert!

Thursday, July 5 BOLOGNA - SPA TOWN, ITALY Excursion to the city of Bologna, home to the oldest university in Europe. On your walking tour, become acquainted with the history of Bologna, which flourished as a center of intellectual thought during the Middle Ages. Free time for independent lunch and exploring in the ancient city center filled with palaces and churches. Afternoon travel to a spa town outside of Venice. Perform an evening concert.

Wednesday, July 11 - RATTENBERG - GLACIERMorning visit to the charming town of Rattenberg, noted for its handicrafts and crystal. Next, ride a cable car high into the Alps to a glacier for a spectacular panorama of ice-capped mountains and sheltered valleys. Travel to a nearby village for dinner and an evening concert. Return to Westendorf for overnight.

Thursday, July 12 WESTENDORFToday is free to enjoy Westendorf - perhaps some swimming, biking or hiking. A ski lift ride provides a fantastic view of the valley. Perform an evening concert for an appreciative audience.

Friday, July 13 DACHAU - DINKELSBÜHLJourney into the Bavarian region of Germany. Stop for a sobering visit at the World War II Concentration Camp at Dachau. Continue traveling to Dinkelsbühl, a beautiful town dating from 928 and surrounded by a wall and moat. Perform an evening concert in Dinkelsbühl.

Saturday, July 14 - DINKELSBÜHLYour day is free to explore this delightful and enchanting town with its quaint houses, cobbled streets and bright flower boxes. Time to shop for steins, handcrafted nutcrackers and Christmas ornaments. Evening guided walking tour of medieval Dinkelsbühl.

Sunday, July 15 - LUCERNE AREAThe Alps dominate the landscape on your journey into Switzerland. Snowy peaks, lush meadows and sparkling waterfalls beg to be photographed. Afternoon arrival at a resort hotel in the Lucerne area. Free time for enjoying the pools and other hotel amenities. Dinner and overnight at the resort hotel.

Monday, July 16 - LUCERNEMorning travel to Lucerne, a beautiful cosmopolitan city on the shores of scenic Lake Lucerne. Browse through the old section of the city, view the panorama of medieval towers, cross the 14th century Kapellbrücke (roofed wooden bridge) and visit the lion monument carved out of rock. Late afternoon return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Tuesday, July 17 - ZURICH - USATransfer to Zurich Airport for return to the United States via scheduled flights. Welcome Home!
