Client: The school
Time given: 8 weeks.
Specification: A website, a poster or a movie
Documented Evidence: A documented evidence is a journal that you keep to record what you have done during the process of making the product. Pictures, additional and detailed info are added to the journal.
Unit Question:
SWA doesn’t have enough students and if this goes on, the school will have to shut down. To prevent this from happening, we have to get more students to go to SWA. To make this happen, we have to advertise SWA by making posters, a website, etc. And that’s the purpose of this project.
The areas of interaction in this project are human ingenuity and community & service. It is because we need to think a lot and use our creativity to make the advertisement attractive to our target group and we are helping the school in bringing more students to the school.
1. What kind of school did you want your children to go to? - A school that has great education, cheap and qualified
expat teachers. 2. How much would you pay for a school? - 60 million/ month. Only if the school is good. 3. Would you want your children to go to an international
school? Why? - An international school. I want my children to learn English.
4. Would you prefer your children to go to a school with only Indonesian students or with Indonesian and international students? Why?
- A school with international students. It is because I want my children to know more about other people’s cultures.
5. What kind of school do you think your children might have want to go to? -A school with friendly and fun environment. They want a school with friendly friends and teachers and they want to have a lot of fun at school.
6. In your opinion, what do most parents expect from a school? - A good education of course. Besides that, I think they also want their children to be in good hands and feel happy when they’re in school.
From the interview with my client, I now know what kind of school she likes, the school environment and the kind of school that her children would want to go to, and the cost and reason why she chose a school. I now also know what kind of school do most parents want their child to go to. I think this is a useful info to start off with the project.

We are advertising using paper (posters , etc) and digital tools (such as websites, videos, etc). This impact the environment badly. Using paper means we have to chopped down trees for the papers. Using laptop to make websites, videos and posters means we need to charge the laptop more often and this wastes energy and electricity more.
The impact that this project have on the society is pretty good. More people will know SWA and maybe they would enroll here. This will have have a good impact on the school and the society.

Design 3: Pros: Attracts children and parents & have a lot info Cons: Cost is really expensive and the advertisement doesn’t really spread anywhere.
Design 4: Pros: Attracts parents and has a lot of info, cost is really cheap. Cons: Aesthetics is not very good and doesn’t attract children.
Design 5: Pros: Attracts target audience and has a lot of info Cons: Cost is really expensive and bad aesthetics
Candice: Overall, I think the designs are great but if I have to choose, I would probably choose the first design. The first design contains information about SWA and have pictures of the school. I think what you could have done is write more about the school, maybe about laptops, buildings and others. But overall, I think this design is good and informative.

Design 1: Since the target audience is parents and children, I think this advertisement will work. The aesthetics of this design is really good (Pictures of classes, colorful background, etc). It attracts the target audience and has a lot of information on it. The only problem is, the cost is really expensive. I think the advertisement will attract a lot of people to come to SWA.
Design 2: This advertisement only attracts parents, and doesn’t have a lot of information on it. The aesthetics is not really good (only colored pictures) but the cost Is really cheap. Our target audience is mainly adults and children, so it needs some improvements.
Design 3: The aesthetics of this design is really good (Colorful fonts, colored pictures and colorful background) but doesn’t have information on it. This only attracts minimum audience. This means it needs huge improvements.
Design 4: The aesthetics of this advertisement is not good (Black & white fonts, black & white pictures) but the cost is really cheap and has a lot of information on it. I think the advertisement will attract only minimum audience, since the aesthetics is bad.
Design 5: The aesthetics is bad, cost is really expensive and doesn’t have information on it. I think I won’t choose this one. It needs a huge make over.
I’ve made several modifications on the design. I reviewed several areas the design needs to improve on, and I remake it.
Was the plan detailed enough? Why?
A: Yes. Because I have put all the details there.
Could it be followed by someone else? Why?
A: No. It couldn’t be. Because I have tried my best to make the plan creatively.
Have I used all the resources available to me?
A: Yes. I have used it all.
15-09-11 (Thursday) : Today I started to work on my project. I have found several interesting pictures from our school to be put in the advertisement. I also started to think of the design of the advertisement.
16-09-11 (Friday): I have started making the poster. I have decided to use the Pages software. I typed in some words that I found might be persuading. I put in some pictures. The first draft is completed.
19-09-11 (Monday): Today I look at the poster once more and made some changes. I deleted some of the words that I found are not persuading enough. I put in more interesting pictures that I have just found.
22-09-11 (Thursday): I started to design the poster’s background. I also changed the font’s color and added some interesting decorations to the poster that might attract the target audience’s attention.
Friday 23-09-11: I had add some more information about our school and finished design. I finished the poster.
Thursday 06-10-11: I checked and took a final look at the poster, I made some changes. I have added words and pictures.
