They are lagging indicators – data reported is from the previous year.

Common Mistakes in Leaver Reporting

Campus office staff do not have a process in place to monitor all enrollment and withdrawal data.

Campus does not submit a leaver record.

Campus does not follow up on a student who intended to enroll elsewhere to see if he or she actually enrolled.

Campus does not document why a student left.

Campus knows why a student left but submits the wrong code.

WHAT CAMPUSES CAN DOEach student served on the campus in one school year must be accounted for the next fall either through TEA or campus records. Each campus must have a process in place to track cohorts.

EDIT+ reports available in the fall provide the full roster of students expected to be accounted for.

Student-level listings providing final statuses for every student in a campus’s cohort is released in June on TEASE.
