Dear Sir/Madam,
FORMATION OF OUR 15th UNIT - - IN GOA ON 09-08-2015
With the retirement of more number of employees in the Bank in the near future, retired employees of Canara Bank residing in the State of Goa had been longing to have a separate organisation to look after their interests. Accordingly, in a meeting of our bank retirees from Goa and nearby centres, an Adhoc Committee was formed towards Foundation of Retirees’ Association in Goa. Adhoc Committee decided that the Foundation Conference be held in August 2015 at Panaji, Goa. Accordingly, Foundation Conference was held at Goa on 09-08-2015.
Sri B.P.M.Barretto, Chairman Adhoc Committee welcomed the dignitaries and
the participants to the Conference. Sri Francis Soares, Secretay, Adhoc
Committee invited Sri S.V.Srinivasan, General Secretary, AICBRF to
inaugurate the Foundation Conference. In his inaugural address, Sri

and bank retirees’ movement in particular. He also touched upon salient
features of the Medical Insurance Scheme proposed to be introduced in our
Bank in terms of the 10th Bipartite Settlement & Joint Note dated 25.05.2015.
General Secretary of AICBRF, besides greeting the participants also called
upon each and every retiree member in the State of Goa to play his due role in
enlisting more members by fostering true spirit of all cadre unity symbolised
by AIBRF and strengthen Canara Bank Retirees’ Association – Goa Unit
further.
Sri Ajay Manjrekar, Central Committee Member of AIBEA & General Secretary
of Canara Bank Employees’ Union, in his keynote address dealt with the
struggles of bank employees culminating in 10th Bipartite Settlement and

our Federation in advancing retirees’ cause at the bank level and extend
support to AICBRF wherever possible in its onward march. Recalling the
emotional bondage with the State of Goa, Sri Ajay Manjrekar wished the Goa
unit to strengthen and bring laurels to AICBRF at the national level by
enrolling more and more number of retired employees of our Bank to its fold in
