Week One 4. Vase Task

Week Two

5 Playing with surfaces

Week One - Vase TaskThese are a series of vases I made for the week one algorithmic task. I started by lofting two polygon shapes together and transforming the body of the shape through rotation. I used number slides to change the following details: The number of sides on the polygon shapes, the degree of roation, the distance between the two shapes that were lofted together, and finally, a number slider which adjusted the degree of the fillet curves from rounded to sharp edges. In Fig 6 I also played around with the control points to create some interesting angles.

Week Two - Playing with SurfacesThe following iterations I made by lofting three curves together and then playing with the surface options in Grasshopper. In Fig 1,Fig 2, and Fig 8 I followed the algorithm developed in class which created a lines from the surface (with number sliders to control the amount of lines and the length of the lines) and then i experimented by adding sphere, cones and various other shapes to the end point of the lines. I also used a number slider to control the radius of the speheres. In the remaining Fig 3-7 I experiemented with different surfasce techniques including twisting planes along and axis and the addition of colour.
