Out of the people I asked, 2 were femaleand 1 was male. Although not entirelybalanced, this gives a view from eachgender as to what films they watch and tosee whether there is a pattern ornoticeable difference between genders or
not.
Out of the people I asked, 2 were agedbetween 15-19 and 1 was aged 20+. Thisgives a range of views from different ages. One male and one female were theteenagers, and one woman was the 20+.This gives a wide variety of views on filmsand lets me see if there is a substantialdifference between age groups.

What makes you go to see a film?(Pick two each.)
Trailer
Actors/ActressesStarring in Film
Storylines
TV Promotion of theFilm
Word-of-Mouth
Out of the people I asked, 2 people preferredthe Thriller (Psychological) genre and 1 personpreferred the Horror (Gory) genre. Nobodydidnt like either. This is helpful to us, as ouropening sequence is surrounding the Thrillergenre and knowing that a majority prefer thisgenre is inspiring.
Out of the people I asked, all of the people agreed thatwatching a trailer made them go to see the film. Afterthat, each chose different reasons. 1 chose theactors/actresses starring in the film, 1 chose thestorylines and 1 chose word-of-mouth. This showshow effective trailers are over everything else and howshort clips can sell a film to somebody before theyveseen the entire film. This is encouraging since ouropening sequence is 2 minutes long and this researchshows that it can still be appealing to audiences at ashort length.

QUESTIONNAIRE EVALUATIONWhat do you find scary in a
film? (Pick two each.)
Ghosts
Demons
Serial Killers
The Unknown
Seeminly "Innocent"ChildrenLunatics/Crazy People
What do you find scariest in afilm? (Pick two each.)
Knowing something thatthe characters in the filmdon'tSomething appearing outof nowhere
The dead coming back tolife
Someone being followed
Non-diegetic sound (e.g.Hearing amurder/Footsteps)
Out of the people I asked, the majority said that demons
scare them mainly. Other common scares were serialkillers, seemingly innocent children and lunatics/crazypeople. None of these really fit into our openingsequence, however, if one was to decide what the dollactually was, it could be possessed by some sort of demon. There is no doubt, also, that the doll is a serialkiller. So these results are supporting our openingsequence.
Out of the people I asked, the vast majority said thatsomething appearing out of nowhere scared them most in afilm. The next most popular answer was someone beingfollowed and the other answer was knowing something thatthe characters in the film dont. Luckily, these fortify ouropening sequence as the doll gets up and walks towards thecamera, ultimately following the young girl. The doll alsoappears standing after a camera crackling fault, when she waspreviously sitting which supports the appearing out of nowhere answer. The doll also being evil and alive is
something that the audience dont know. This research is themost encouraging and enlightening to our opening sequencebeing a success.

QUESTIONNAIRE EVALUATION
Would you be interested in our openingsequence of a film about an evil doll, passeddown through generations, killing all of its
owners and, so far, never being caught?
Yes
No
Luckily, out of all of the people I asked, everybody said that they were genuinelyinterested in our opening sequence idea of an evil killer doll with a murderous past. This feedback is very reassuring for me and my crew partner, as it allows us to thinkpositively about all of our research and planning that we have done so far. All of thepeople I asked didnt hesitate in saying that our opening sequence of a film idea was
intriguing and something they would generally want to see in a cinema.
