3. Air WaybillThe air waybill is a contract - an agreement between theshipper and the carrier;
Air consignment note refers to a receipt issued by aninternational airline for goods and an evidence of thecontract of carriage, but it is not a document of title to thegoods;
It covers transport of cargo from airport to airport. Byaccepting a shipment an IATA cargo agent is acting onbehalf of the carrier whose air waybill is issued;
The air waybill has multiple copies so that each party
involved in the shipment can document it.
