Thesis Statement A thesis statement is a complete sentencethat contains the main idea of your entire essay. It also contains the main ideas of your body paragraph.

A thesis statement also tells your reader how your essay will be organized. This way when the reader reads your essay, they know what the essay is about, so you do not have to write “My essay will be about…” Or “I am going to tell you about…”

When I was young, I always knew that I wanted to become a teacher someday. When I played, I would often gather my dolls together and pretend to teach them how to do math problems or how to read a book. As I grew older, my desire to become an ESL teacher became clearer as I did some volunteer teaching. My reasons for becoming a teacher are my love for the English language, my innate interest in how people learn, and my desire to help other people .

In some ways our lives today are similar to their lives millions of years ago. Early human’s lives were different and similar to our lives today because we have similar shelters and food but our technologies are very different today.
