OTHER LAB FACILITY• The centers will be equipped with all modern laboratory test equipments as stated above with latest computer/communication facilities. • ERP solution (i.e. application software) has been developed which is designed to run on the lab server (central server), as well as on web-server, at CSIO, New Delhi. The data will be held in My SQL database on the lab server. • This system will be completely web-based, linking to central server and the remote web server from a standard web browser.

The test details and other related reports are to be stored into the database and can be read at any point of time with the permission of CSIO Admin.

Total 11.83 • As per Budget estimates; Rs. 60.00 Lakhs have been proposed for procurement of Lab Equipments

but the total expenditure booked under the budget sub-head is Rs. 11.83 Lakhs. • It is anticipated that Rs. 32.45 Lakhs will be booked with-in one month under the above head towards

procurement of AA Spectrophotometer, Digital Viscometer, Digital Weighing Balance (320 gm) and Water Distillation Apparatus.

Software Development•Dedicated Server with broadband connection has been installed at CSIO, New Delhi Centre.• ERP Solution for operation of labs has been developed by an external agency who was awarded contract for the above work.• The agency installed Operating System (Linux) on the server and the application software will be installed soon (with-in one month).

Recruitment of Project Assistants (PA)• 8 Nos. of PA have been recruited and joined CSIO on 3.7.2009 under the project.•5-day Refresher Practical/ Hands-on Training course (7.7.2009 to 11.7.2009) to all the 8 PA recruited were conducted at Jaipur National University, Jaipur.• PAs were familiarized with regard to Maintenance of Cash Book, Store Entry (NC/Consumable), Bank operations, Day-to-day office activities like dispatch of letters, keeping office records etc.

•PAs were also familiarized with regard to Maintenance of Attendance Sheet of themselves and Security Guards, Maintenance of Work Report, etc. of each PA recruited under the project.

•Provided necessary Office Stationery to each Agro Test Centre (ATC).

• Rs. 10000/- have been paid to each ATC towards Registration of societies which is required for getting Utility connections (like Electricity, Water, Telephone) and opening of bank account for operationlising the activities.

• Test Charges have been framed and will be submitted to CSIO Headquarters for approval.

Final DeliverablesTo provide test facilities of raw material and final products produced by various industries located in these Agro Food Parks and adjoining areas. The centers will help the local industries to market their produce to national / international markets by ascertaining the parameters as per requirement of national/international standards. The centers will act as a catalyst in implementing Food Safety & Quality Initiative Programme launched by Ministry of Food Processing & Industries (MoFPI), Govt. of India.To impart training to entrepreneurs with regard to operation of Agro Test Centers with an emphasis on Standardization of Test Procedures, Maintenance and Calibration of Test Instruments, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) aspects, Food Safety & Quality Assurance, etc. in association with other laboratories of CSIR working in the field. To create awareness with regard to grading, standardization and quality of various agricultural and food products through organizing seminars, workshops, etc. at local level.
