INSTALLATION
• Thepumpsarerecommendedforuseinswimmingpoolsandgardenpoolsbutarehighly adaptable to salt water applications. Maximum pressure, head max, is given on the pump registration plate.
• Ensureyourpumpisinanaccessiblelocationforservicing.• Thepumpshouldbeboltedtoasolidfloore.gconcrete,tominimisevibrationand
movement. • Itispreferableforthesuctioninletonthepumptobeasclosetothepoolwater
level as possible. • Pleasemakesurethereisadequatedrainageshouldfloodingoccur.• Ensuretheroomtemperatureislowerthanthespecifiedmaximumambient
temperature.Theremustalsonotbeextremelevelsofmoistureintheroom.Theambient temperature must not exceed 40°C
• Pleaseallowforisolationvalvesinsuctionandreturnpiping,alsopleaseuseashortdirectsuctionpipetoreducefrictionlosses.
PIPE
• Pleasemakesurethatallthepipeisadequatelysupportedaroundthepump.Avoidanystrainingonthepipeworkandjoints.
• Pleaseensurethatthesuctionpipeisthesameorlargerthanthereturninlet.• Topreventairlocking,slopetheinletpipeataslightangleuptowardsthepump.Try
toavoidusingfittingsthatcauseairlocking/airtraps.Allpipemustbeairtight.• Forfloodedsuctionsystems,pleaseensureyouhavesuitablevalvesinsuctionand
return pipes. • Pleaseensurethatallthepipeoninstallisneworatleastcleanedbeforeusewith
the new unit. • Onnewinstallstrytousethelowestnumberoffittings,thiswillincreaseflowrate
andincreasetheefficiencyofthepump.• Whentighteningtheunionsexcessivetorqueisunnecessaryandmaycause
damage to the pump.• AllpoolfittingsmustconformtheIAPMO(InternationalAssociationofPlumbingand
MechanicalOfficials).

ELECTRICAL
• PleaseensurethatalicensedandqualifiedelectricianisinstallingthepumptoElectrical Codes and Standards.
• Carryoutafullvisualinspectionoftheproduct,shouldthesupplycablebedamageditmustbereplacedbythemanufactureroritsserviceagentorasimilarlyqualifiedpersontoavoidhazards.
• Pleaseensurethatthesupplyvoltagematchesthemotorplateonthemotor,ifincorrectseriousdamagecanbeinflictedandvoidthewarranty6%isallowedeithersideoftherecommendedvoltage.Ifthesupplyismorethan10%different,makesure you do not connect the pump and contact your energy supplier.
• UseanRCD(ResidualCurrentDevice)oranGFCI(GroundFaultCircuitInterrupter)notexceeding30_mAwitha3mmminimumbreakdistanceoneachterminal.Thiswillbethemasteron/offswitchandwilldetectanyshortcircuittoground.Powerwillbeshutoffbeforeitbecomesdangerousforpoolusers.
• Beforecarryingoutanyworkonyourpumppleasemakesureyouisolatethepowertothemotor.Thisisimperativeandcanbefatalifnotfollowed.
• ShouldtheGFCI/RCDtripandwillnotresetcallalicensedandqualifiedelectricianto attend.
• Thepumpneedstobeonitsowncircuitwithnootherlightsorappliancesonthesame circuit.
• Afterwiringthepumpbesuretoreplaceandtightenthescrewsontheelectrichousing to ensure the water tight seal.

OPERATION
• NEVER RUN THE PUMP DRY.ItWILLdamagethesealsinsidethepumpandmaycauseleakingandflooding.
• Neveropenthepumplidtoaccessthestrainerbeforeshuttingdownthepumpandshut all valves in both the suction and delivery pipes. Always release the pressure fromthesystembeforeaccess.
• Donottightenorloosenthelidwhilethepumpisoperation.• DANGER HAZARDOUS SUCTION.Bodyparts,hairandclothingcouldbetrapped
inthesuctioncausingsevereinjuryordeath.NEVERblockthesuction.
PRIMING
• Releasealltheairfromthefilterandpipe(seethefiltermanualforinstructions).• Withafloodedsuctionsystem,thepumpwillprimeitselfprovidingthedelivery
valves are open. • Re-lubricationandcleaningoftheO-Ringsifthelidisremovedisgoodpracticeon
lidandunions,useSiliconeO-RingGrease.• Makesurethatyoufillthestrainerbasketandpumpwithwaterviathelidbefore
startingthepump.Thisisagreatwayofensuringacleanstart-up.• Besurethatwhenyouaretighteninguptheclearlidthatyouonlydosobyhand,
thelidtoolisonlyforthepurposetoremovethelidshoulditbecometootight.• Ifthepumpishavingdifficultypriming,makesurethatallthevalvesareopen,the
suctionpointsarefullysubmergedandtherearenoleaksinthepipe.

STORAGE AND WINTERISING
• Yourpumpundernocircumstancescanbelefttofreeze.ThiswillvoidthewarrantyAlsorefrainfromusingallanti-freezesolutionsapartfromPropyleneGlycolproducts,thisisnon-toxicandwillnotharmthepumpunlikeothers.
• Makesurethatthepumpiswinterisedcorrectlybydrainingthepumpandpipeworkofallwater.Thisismoreimportantduringfreezingtemperaturesandwhenthepumpisstoredforextendedperiodsoftime.
• Whenstoringthepumpmakesureitscoveredandinadryventilatedlocation.Pleaseavoidcoveringthepumpwithanythinglikeplasticthatcancausecondensationandlead to corrosion.
DRAINING
1. DANGERBeforedrainingyourpumpTURNOFFthepower,failuretodosocancausedangerousorfatalelectricshock.
2.Removetheclearstrainerbasketlid,thereisatoolprovidedshouldthelidbetootightto undo by hand.
3.Removethedrainpluglocatedonthestrainerbasketend,rotateanticlockwisetorelease,removethestrainerbasketandcheckthatthereisnotrappeddebrisblockingthedrainholelocatedbelowthebasket.
START-UP AFTER WINTER
1. Remove any insulation you may have put around the pump during shut down.2.RefertoyourFilterInstructionManualforrestartingafterwinterising.3.Carryoutafullvisualinspectionoftheelectricalwiring,shouldyoufindafaultcontact
yourqualifiedelectriciantorepair.4.Inspectallthepipefittingconnections.5.Shouldyouhaveusedanti-freezedrainitfromthepump.6.Removeanywinterisingpipeplugsiftheywereused.7. Close all drain valves and replace the drain plug on the pump. 8.Seeprimingforstart-upmethod.

SERVICING PUMP SEAL
Toolsyouwillneed.4mmhexdriveAllenkey,flatheadscrewdriver,MolycoteO-Ringgrease.
• SHUTDOWNPUMPbeforeworkingonthepump(UNPLUGIFPOSSIBLE),powertothe pump must be isolated.
• CLOSEALLVALVESbeforeworkingonthepump.• RELEASEALLPRESSUREbeforeworkingonthepump.• DO NOT PROCEED UNTIL ALL THE ABOVE STEPS ARE FOLLOWED.• Removetheclearlid,remembertore-lubricatetheO-Ringonthiswhenservicing.• Undotheunionsandunboltthepumpfromthefloor,thiswillfreethepumpmaking
iteasiertoworkon.• Removealleight4mmhexscrews,thiswillreleasethewetendfromthesealplate.• Putthewetendtooneside.• Securingthedriveshaftwithascrewdriver,rotatetheimpelleranti-clockwiseand
itwillunscrewfromthemotorshaft,onthebackoftheimpelleryouwilllocatethepumpseal.Thefancasecanberemovedtoaccessendoftheshaft.
• Besuretoreplacethenewonethecorrectway.Applyasmallamountof55Molycotegreasetotheshaftoftheimpellerwheretherubberpartofthesealtouches. Highlighted in red below.
• Shouldyouneedtoaccess/changetheslingerwasheryouwillneedtoremovethesealplate to access to the other side.
• Rememberit’salwaysgoodtorelubricateO-Ringsuponbreakdown.• Whenreassemblingthepump,the eight 4mm hex screws need to be tightened to 3
newton metres. Tighten evenly ensuring an even seal, do not over tighten.

4. Motor runs hot
These motors will run ‘hot’tothetouch.However, this is nor-mal, they are designed that way. Thermal overload pro-tectorwillfunctiontoturnthemoffifthereisanoverloadofhightemperature problem. Excessive heat can be caused by:
4a. Low or incorrect voltage •Wiringtobecorrectedbyqualifiedelectrician.
4b.Installedindirectsun •Shieldmotorfromsun’srays.
4c. Poor ventilation •Donotcoverorenclosemotor
5.Noisyoperationof motor
