ABOUT AFRICAN WOMEN IN EUROPE African women in Europe was founded by Joy Wanjiru Zenz in January 2008 and later joined by co-founder Wambui Njau The website has 700 registered and active members
The website was created with the idea that women can work together and reflect a positive image of an African woman intelligent hardworking multitasked ambitious family supporting and deserving of respect By use of information technology like minded women can reach each other despite geographical differences all over Europe

AWE is a private website created for African women living working or in business in Europe and it is managed by members Our mission is to create a relaxed atmosphere where African women can get informed be motivated and empower each other The website platform assist members to exchanging ideas and sharing experiences through discussion board privatepublic messages photos videos and blogs
Members can join various groups according to individual preferences and make new friends Every year members meet in one of the cities in Europe During the social meeting members get to know each other and discuss various issues

To offer a manageable networking platform
To support upcoming and existing entrepreneurs
To form friendship among members

AWE AWARDS 2013 UK Inspiring African Women in Europe investing in Africa
Applications for the AWE (African Women in Europe) 2013 2nd Awards are now
officially open The AWE Awards event ceremony will be held in London UK
The AWE award aims to recognize and honor African Women living working
and studying or in business in Europe Any African woman who meets these
requirements can be nominated however in order for the nomination to go
through the nominee has to join and become a member of the AWE network
This is also a good opportunity for women to market their products and
services a chance to gain exposure and to be rewarded for their achievement
The need for the Award came from an assessment conducted through the
African women in Europe website which has over 600 registered members We
were also inspired by the interviews done through our voluntary online radio
shows where we met amazing African women in Europe involved in great
endeavors and decided to use this platform to honor and acknowledge these
women
Why should you apply for the awards
As an Award winner you will be able to use the award to market yourself in
your field
It will be an opportunity to gain exposure for you and your company
You will be a role model to the African community around you

Music in Uganda is one of the fastest growing industries and has
come with lots of new faces voices and ideas For so long there has
been this lady whose videos have appeared on almost all television
stations yet she is never on musical concerts around town
With songs such as Njagala and Gwe wekka already doing so well
for her Hipipocom team took time to find out more details about
this melodic female artiste
Currently based in the United Kingdom Lyton Namubiru was born
on the 14th February 1980 in Kampala Uganda She was raised by a
single parent (mother) in Jinja

She is a Kenyan ndash born fashion designer based in Zuumlrich Switzerland Her creativity
was evident at a very early age By the age of seven she knew she wanted to be a
fashion designer And her favorite pass time was perusing through glossy fashion
magazine She was an excellent student in Home economics and the first skirt she ever sewed was
ranked best during final year examinations Her humble beginning into the fashion industry took off
when she launched the acclaimed Miss Kenya Swiss Beauty pageant a youth empowerment program
for young Kenyan girls living is Switzerland Her input and creativity made the event among the most

ignificant and most sought-after on the social calendar for Africans living in Europe

AWE AWARDS 2013 UK Inspiring African Women in Europe investing in Africa
Applications for the AWE (African Women in Europe) 2013 2nd Awards are now
officially open The AWE Awards event ceremony will be held in London UK
The AWE award aims to recognize and honor African Women living working
and studying or in business in Europe Any African woman who meets these
requirements can be nominated however in order for the nomination to go
through the nominee has to join and become a member of the AWE network
This is also a good opportunity for women to market their products and
services a chance to gain exposure and to be rewarded for their achievement
The need for the Award came from an assessment conducted through the
African women in Europe website which has over 600 registered members We
were also inspired by the interviews done through our voluntary online radio
shows where we met amazing African women in Europe involved in great
endeavors and decided to use this platform to honor and acknowledge these
women
Why should you apply for the awards
As an Award winner you will be able to use the award to market yourself in
your field
It will be an opportunity to gain exposure for you and your company
You will be a role model to the African community around you

on the 14th February 1980 in Kampala Uganda She was raised by a
single parent (mother) in Jinja

Applications for the AWE (African Women in Europe) 2013 2nd Awards are now
officially open The AWE Awards event ceremony will be held in London UK
The AWE award aims to recognize and honor African Women living working
and studying or in business in Europe Any African woman who meets these
requirements can be nominated however in order for the nomination to go
through the nominee has to join and become a member of the AWE network
This is also a good opportunity for women to market their products and
services a chance to gain exposure and to be rewarded for their achievement
The need for the Award came from an assessment conducted through the
African women in Europe website which has over 600 registered members We
were also inspired by the interviews done through our voluntary online radio
shows where we met amazing African women in Europe involved in great
endeavors and decided to use this platform to honor and acknowledge these
women

Music in Uganda is one of the fastest growing industries and has
come with lots of new faces voices and ideas For so long there has
been this lady whose videos have appeared on almost all television
stations yet she is never on musical concerts around town
With songs such as Njagala and Gwe wekka already doing so well
for her Hipipocom team took time to find out more details about
this melodic female artiste
Currently based in the United Kingdom Lyton Namubiru was born
on the 14th February 1980 in Kampala Uganda She was raised by a
single parent (mother) in Jinja

She is a Kenyan ndash born fashion designer based in Zuumlrich Switzerland Her creativity
was evident at a very early age By the age of seven she knew she wanted to be a
fashion designer And her favorite pass time was perusing through glossy fashion
magazine She was an excellent student in Home economics and the first skirt she ever sewed was
ranked best during final year examinations Her humble beginning into the fashion industry took off
when she launched the acclaimed Miss Kenya Swiss Beauty pageant a youth empowerment program
for young Kenyan girls living is Switzerland Her input and creativity made the event among the most
s
ignificant and most sought-after on the social calendar for Africans living in Europe
She launched her fashion label Winnie Ojangarsquos Creations which is a beautiful label that captures femininity elegance class and style Each collection showcases complete fashion forward styles that are easy to wear timeless ageless classy and undoubtedly unique We use exquisite fabrics and luxe embellishments that make every creation piece a fashion statement that is always on trend individual sophisticated sensual glamorous and elegant
She was recently honored to grace an International fashion event in Zurich Switzerland She got a chance to work alongside some well known and respected international designers during the 2010 Charles Voumlgele fashion days in Zuumlrich an event that did not only attract big names in fashion entertainment and film industry in Europe The event also turned Zuumlrich into a hotspot of haute couture for the first time in history
During the fashion days She was also part of ldquoFashion Days Model Challengerdquo team She worked alongside Swiss top model Nadine Strittmatter and former model and actor Urs Althaus
