CAPT Kiwus New Post President CAPT Chris Kiwus, CEC, USN NAVFAC Southeast, took over the Jacksonville Post helm on July 20, 2013, during the Installation of Officers and Directors event at the Officer’s Club at Naval Air Station Jacksonville. His first act as president was to thank the outgoing Post President, CAPT Dwyn Taylor, CEC, USN (Ret) and all the Post members of their dedicated service to SAME’s mission. CAPT Kiwus acknowledged Taylor’s leadership, with the official president’s gavel plaque. With 38 Jax Post officers, members and guests attending the dinner event, Taylor kicked off the event by reviewing the year’s successes, especially thanking those who have made the Post’s streamer accomplish- ments possible. CAPT Chris Kiwus, CEC, USN NAVFAC Southeast, took over the Jacksonville Post helm on July 20, 2013, during the Installation of Officers and Directors event at the Officer’s Club at Naval Air Station Jacksonville. Moving on to awards, Taylor announced the Post President’s award as going to Lisa Thoele, RS&H, for volunteering to lead the new communications committee for the Post. Next, Taylor recognized other great achievers including Christyn Wiederhold, Corps of Engineers - Young Engineer of the Year, Al Walker, Corps of Engineers – Member of the Year, Arcadis – Large Sustaining Member Firm of the Year, Stellar – Medium Sustaining Member Firm of the Year, and LG2 Environmental Solutions – Small Sustaining Firm of the Year. Thanks to Alan Watt, RS&H, for residing-over the main event of the evening--the installation of officers and directors for the 2013-14 term (SAME South Atlantic Regional Vice President (RVP) Bill Bersson could not attend at the last minute). Before and after the official “swearing-in”, members, spouses and guests got the opportunity to network and meet new and old friends during a social hour and banquet dinner. The event concluded with a bright outlook for the new term.

S. Army Corps of Engineers standpoint and practical implementation of ECI contracting on various projects for the Hurricane & Storm Damage Risk Reduction System.
