WHO ARE WE? AFC!Welcome to Annerley Football Club

Men's Capital Squad Jersey Presentation Dinner

Fast Football Facts (World Cup)

The Capital League 1 and Reserves squad last week attended a jersey presentation evening at theAnnerley Junior Clubhouse. All the boys came dressed to impress, some looking as though they'dspent hours holed up in front of a mirror beforehand (in particular, Jye Magarry’s hair wasimpeccable).

The Reserves squad were the first to be presented with their new club jerseys by their Coach TimNoske. Each player happily accepted a quick handshake before putting their good looks to use in aphoto with Tim and Flo, a representative from the new club sponsor AIAS.

After a barbecue dinner, the boys were treated to a stirring speech from club legend/lifemember/all-round top bloke Dave Forsyth, in which he encouraged the squad as a whole to worktogether and get their respective seasons back on track. It is rumoured that this was the first timeDave has talked for longer than a minute without swearing. Head Coach Russell Mapri, along withDave, then proudly presented the top team players with their new AIAS Annerley jerseys.

Overall it was a fantastic night shared in good spirits and we are now eager to begin training againthis week, before fighting hard for another three points on the weekend.

India withdrew from the World Cup in 1950because they weren’t allowed to play barefoot. The most goals scored in a World Cup matchwas 10 by Hungary against El Salvador in 1982.

Annerley F.C. VS Southside Eagles

8:30PM

Line UpCoach: Russel Mapri

After a disappointing loss to North Star, a red cardsuspension and a number of injuries, our backs aredefinitely up against the wall this Friday nightagainst the undefeated Southside Eagles. The boys had a taper week leading into Easter, abonding night and a quality week of training, whichhas given us every opportunity to find the form wehad during pre-season and early in the season totake all three points this weekend,

With Nathan Garcia and Damien O'Brien back, along with the inclusionof new players Jeremy Webster and Michele Cappinini , we havestrengthened our squad. However we will have to dig deep and allperform at our best to make up for the missing players.Bring on Friday night!

HOME GAME FIXTUREWOMEN'S

Saturday 11th April 2015

Women's City League 5

Annerley F.C. VS UQFC

1:00PM

Line Up

Coach: Faye Naylor

This week sees us playing UQ who are on equalpoints with us on top of the ladder but with agame in hand. After two wins and an unlucky loss, there is still a long way to go. We have high hopeson finishing in the finals race again this year.

Having secured the services of a great keeper, theremainder of the squad can rest easy knowing

one of them no longer has to go in between the 'posts of death' toooften. We have remained strong defensively and in the midfield andwith some concentration on finishing I think we will win a lot moregames comfortably.

Coach's Corner! with Faye Naylor

Previous Women's Results...Last round saw the BWPL team record its first win of the season againstUQFC, with an impressive 3-0 victory at home. Our City 1 team sufferedtheir first loss of the season, losing to Logan 3-1. City 4 had the weekendoff (bye) and City 5 had a close loss away from home, going down toEasts 1-0.
