AECCI-Brief Report

AECCI, for its exporter members organized an Interactive session with the Chief Commissioner of Customs Mumbai Zone-II on “IGST Refund” & “Authorized Economic Operator” On 2nd Nov, 2018 at K-Star Hotel, CBD Belapur. The objective of this session was to address the IGST related queries of the participants and to create the awareness about the “Authorised Economic Operator” program. The seminar was graced by following Customs Officers:

• Mr. R.K. Singh (Addl. Commissioner),

• Mr. Rohit Singla (Joint Commissioner) and

• Mr. Siddarth Jaiswal (Deputy Commissioner)

AECCI Representatives:

• Mrs. Swarn Lata (Executive Director) and

• other Officers/staff of Chamber

Mr. Prajapati welcomed the Guest of honour- Mr. Vivek Johri, Chief Commissioner of Customs, Zone II and other dignitaries. Program started with the lamp lighting ceremony by the Guest of Honour alongwith other guest officers from customs. Then a brief introduction of the AECCI, All the Guests and the overview of program was given by Mrs. Swarn Lata. She also thanked the Chief Commissioner of Customs Mr. Vivek Johri and his officers for sparing their valuable time for this interactive session. Mr. Vivek Johri, Chief Commissioner of Customs , Zone II, Mumbai addressed the gathering and shared information on various subjects like: Direct port entry (DPE), Direct port delivery (DPD), E-Sanchit etc. A brief on Authorised Economic Operator was also given and Mr. Johri motivated the exporter members for careful and error free filing of IGST refund. Mr. R.K. Singh made detailed presentation on AEO scheme and explained the process of application, documents needed, benefits etc. Mr. Rohit Singla discussed in details regarding IGST refund, common errors and reasons for delays in refunds. Mr. Siddarth Jaiswal also joined Mr. Singla in addressing the IGST issues of participants. The interactive session was attended by around 25 participants. Participants interacted with the Customs officers and came forward with their queries related to IGST and other customs related issues. Participants were clarified with most of their queries and were guided to send the details with relevant documents to AECCI so that same can be forwarded to customs officials and can be addressed by them. Participants shared a very positive feedback about the whole session and were very happy on the response they received from the guest officials. The session ended with vote of thanks followed by networking and dinner. The session was very well appreciated by all the participants. AECCI look forward for many more such events in coming future.
