MARCH 2011

Launch Week kicked off with the Outdoor Leisure Show in Birmingham.

From various exhibitor displays to poor people standing in tanks of water, to show that their socks really were water- proof the Outdoor Leisure Show had enough to keep most outdoor people occupied!

With a team of Adventure Eyes members (thanks girls!) frantically handing out flyers all weekend and going to speak to anyone and everyone to spread the Adventure Eyes word this was a great launch platform for us.

Launch week continued on a high with prizes being given out for the Adventure Eyes members left right and centre. From classic mountaineering films to hammocks and maglites, Adventure Eyes members were treated with free gifts to mark our launch.

THE BIG E 2011

TIM MOSEDALE’s EVEREST BID...AND MUCH MORE...

WELCOME TO OUR FIRST EVER NEWSLETTER! From Cornwall to Everest...it’s been a good first month!

The Adventure search launch was a key moment in the evolution of Adventure Eyes. This opened the gates to Cornwall, with information about stunning places and adventures to be had, together with details on places to stay, activity providers and events not to be missed.

A big, big welcome goes out to the organisations that have chosen to be part of Adventure Eyes so far. Itʼs great to have you on board and we are looking forward to working with you over the next year.

Cornwall was first, but this is just the start of the

journey. We are adding Adventure Information all of the time, so find, like and follow us on Facebook and Twitter to get the updates.

The Memberʼs Area has been another new addition to the site (accessed from the Join Us page or immediately after log in).

This page provides the access point for all of the membership pages including the Photo Galleries and Comment Pages. These new additions allow everyone to contribute and share their experiences and weʼre looking forward to seeing the adventures people are embarking upon. Members are

also now able to submit articles for publication on the blog. Details about this are available on the Memberʼs Area Page.

Membership numbers have continued to increase and an exciting development has been discovering that we have a global following! Interestingly we seem to have quite a following in the Philippines in particular, so ʻKumustaʼ to you guys!

The Big E 2011 has perhaps been one of the biggest (quite literally!) events so far. As many of you will have seen, we are promoting Tim Mosedaleʼs Everest Bid. The expedition is hoping to summit in 8 weeks. If they are successful this will put Tim into the record books as being the 10th Brit to summit Everest by both sides. Itʼs an nail-biting time and weʼll be following and

supporting Tim and the team every step of the way. Check out the blog for the latest articles and updates on Timʼs journey.

So whatʼs next for Adventure Eyes?

Articles and updates will continue on the blog and itʼs onwards and upwards with the Adventure Information and developing the downloadable Adventure Packs. This will allow you to access and take information wherever you go without having to be online. Weʼll keep you updated on this exciting new development.

As Easter approaches and chocolate is a weakness for all of the Adventure Eyes Team we couldnʼt resist holding a web-based Easter Egg Hunt. ʻWhen will it begin?ʼ- we hear you shout, the 15th of April is our response. You will then have a week to find to eggs hidden throughout Adventure Eyes. Everyone who finds the correct number of Golden Eggs will receive a delicious chocolate egg! Winners will be announced on Easter Monday with eggs to follow. Happy hunting!

Until next time...The Adventure Eyes Team
