To deliver a good presentation, it is critical to practice in advance.

Practicing will improve your… l Confidence: master the material and speak with confidence.

l  Pronunciation: identify & practice difficult words in advance.

l Audience interaction: focus on the audience, not your notes.

l Delivery: prepare and practice emphasizing the key points.

5 Practice Tips to Nail Your Presentation

1 Write out presentation notes before practicing

•  Deliver the full presentation, without pausing. •  Speak at presentation volume and speed. •  Practice at least 3 times.

2 Practice your presentation in front of a mirror

•  Focus on body language and eye contact with the audience. •  At the end of your presentation, ask for feedback.

3 Practice your presentation in front of an audience

4 Update your notes based on the feedback

5 Practice again in front of a mirror

l  New York City and Paris are both famous cities, but they are also very different. l  My Goal for this presentation is to compare the two cities, and teach you about the

best aspects of each city. l  Let’s begin!

l  New York is famous for its big buildings, celebrities, and fashion. l  Big Buildings

o  New York has many famous buildings, including the Empire State Building and the Brooklyn Bridge.

o  The most famous structure in New York is probably the Statue of Liberty. l  Famous People

o  Many famous people live in New York City, including actors, musicians, athletes, and models.

o  Some of the most famous people in New York include Donald Trump, Jay-Z & Beyonce, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Derek Jeter.

l  Popular Fashion o  New York is one of the fashion capitals of the world. o  It is home to some of the world’s most famous fashion designers, including: Calvin

Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, and Vera Wang. o  New York is also home to some of the world’s largest fashion shows.

l  Now let’s talk about Paris, which is famous for its great food, famous museums, and old architecture.

l  Delicious Food o  Many people visit France to indulge in the great food. o  France is especially famous for its wine regions, including Bordeaux and Burgandy. o  If you visit Paris, don’t forget to try the desserts!

l  Famous Museums o  Paris is home to the Louvre, arguably the most famous museum in the world. The

top attraction at the Louvre is the Mona Lisa painting. o  Another top museum in Paris is the Musee d’Orsay.

l  Old Architecture o  Paris is also home to lots famous architecture. o  The most famous buildings and structures include Notre Dame Cathedral, the Arc

de Triomphe, and the Eiffel Tower.
