If you or someone close to you is unable to attend church due to age or infirmity, please call Loretta in the Pastoral Care office at 408-264-5114 or email , loretta.pfaff@stchrissj.org. We have minis-ters to the sick and homebound who are available to come once a week to pray and bring Communion to those individuals who are unable to come to Church anymore.

This weeks Holiday Hours Parish Office will be closed for July 4th, and will reopen on July 5th, 6th, and 7th from 9:00am-12:00pm and will be closed Friday, July 8th. Thank you, and have a Fun and Safe Holiday.

Dear Parishioners of St Christopher Parish,

It has been a great blessing for me and an honor to serve you as your priest. I am and will al-ways be grateful to God for he has given me an opportunity to be part of St Christopher and to share my priestly ministry with you. As I am moving to another parish community, Our Lady of Guadalupe, I will be bringing many good and meaningful memories of my experience in this parish. And I say, this parish is truly a beautiful parish with beautiful, great, good and kind people.

I want to thank you for all your support, your love and your care. This year, it is a great bless-ing to celebrate my 10th Year Anniversary of Priestly Ordination at St. Christopher. Thank you for being a part of my priesthood. In a special way, I want to thank those who helped me to make this celebration possible, I thank the Ladies Guild, Holy Name Society, and over 50’s, parishioners who prepared the celebration. I thank all the parishioners for your prayers. I want to thank my brother priests, Fr. Chris and Fr. Anthony for their friendship and support in my priestly ministry.

As I embark the next chapter of my priestly life, I ask you to pray for me that I may continue to grow in the spirit of Christ and I assure you that I will keep you always in my prayer. Again, thank you so much and may God bless you all!

The RCIA, Rite of Christian Intimation for Adults, is beginning its period of Inquiry. During this time Non–Catholic adults are in-vited look at their own faith journey and how the Catholic Church can help meet their spir-itual needs. Calling all Parish Ministers….the Annual Parish Ministry Appreciation Dinners for 2016 will be held on September 16 & 17. Mark your calendars and watch your mailbox for your invitation later this summer. We thank you for your service to the Parish.

When school is in, Martha's Kitchen gets a bumper crop of volunteers as many schools require community service hours. During the Summer months starting in June, the volun-teer base shrinks dramatically. Please help them out by volunteering on Tuesday or Wednesday. Morning shift is anywhere from 6 a.m. thru 10 a.m. Just show up. Afternoon shift is from 3:30 - 5:15 p.m. You will be helping them prepare ONE MILLION MEALS in the next three years. Young Adults: St. Christopher Young Adults are a group of parishioners ages 18 to 39, single and mar-ried, who are connected by our Catholic faith and who actively participate in the life of the Church. Our mission is to “continue lifelong learning in a Catholic environment through spiritual growth, re-flection, and service as we strengthen our relation with God though each other, our faith, and our com-munity." The group strives to offer the following programmatic components on a rotating basis: faith sharing, social events, and service opportunities. In the powerful maternal images of the passage from Isaiah, we are reminded that there is an abundance of God’s love and gifts. As we journey through life, we are called to drop our worries and all the extra bag-gage we might wish to carry. We are called to have a great confidence in the abundance of God’s gifts and our ability to share them. We don’t have to worry. We can live a simple life style. We don’t need al-ways to accumulate more and more. We don’t need all the stuff we have or the excesses of our consumer culture. As Isaiah writes: “Oh, that you may suck fully of their milk of her comfort, that you may nurse with delight at her abun-dant breasts !...I will spread prosperity over Jerusa-lem like a river, and the wealth of the nations like an overwhelming torrent.”

The St. Christopher’s Over 50’s Club is de-lighted to announce the recipients of our 2016-2017 Scholarship Award. Ana Gamboa-Gonzales and Conor Peral each received a $500.00 monetary award to assist in further-ing their Catholic education. Fourteen St. Christopher 8th grade applicants submitted essays and a panel of judges selected Ana and Conor. Thank you to all who applied and congratulations to both of these wonderful, young people. On Friday, June 3 we held our annual picnic and we would like to thank Councilman Ro-cha for obtaining for us Kirk Park. Every year the Councilman’s office is most helpful in assisting us in obtaining the permit for use of the park facility. Thank you. As summer comes we all take some time to enjoy our vacations and family so there are no activities until September. However, the annual dues of $5.00 are payable now. All members of the parish who are over 50 are encouraged to become mem-bers and enjoy our monthly meetings, lunch-eons and Bingo games.

Are you looking for a satisfying but flexible volun-teer opportunity? Peninsula Food Runners is a vol-unteer organization dedicated to alleviate hunger and reduce food waste. We are building our volunteer base in Santa Clara County and invite you to join us. Peninsula Food Runners volunteers pick up excess perishable and prepared food from participating Do-nors (restaurants, caterers, bakeries, corporate cafe-terias, etc.), and then deliver the food directly to our Recipients (shelters, day centers for the elderly, Boys and Girls Clubs, etc.).
