Manufacturing sector grew more than 9% per year for most of the last decade. Vietnam expanded its manufacturing exports, especially textiles and footwear
Rapid expansion of services sectors including retail and transportation. Increase of tourism infrastructure and a surge of interest in residential and commercial real estate
Tourism industry is expanding steadily double-digit growth, particularly by international visitors. It recently ranked 4th in tourism growth among 24 nations.
The anticipated growth of the middle class and an increase of medium-sized businesses should continue to drive growth of the country’s real estate market. Although high housing prices persist and the financial system is weak.
Advertising industry is dominated by foreign advertisers. Strong growth is expected, due to the rapidly increasing number of Internet and mobile phone users. Vietnam’s annual advertising revenues could surpass 3 billion USD by 2020.
According to leading firms including IBM, Microsoft and HP, Vietnam should soon start deploying cloud technologies. Some domestic businesses have already adopted cloud computing practices to increase competitiveness.
