ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
1. CHANGE the time listed for the Prebid Meeting to be at 1:30pm. All other information related to
the Prebid Meeting remains the same.
2. ADD the following: Parking on campus in other than spaces marked as “Visitor Parking” require
pre-registration with the MU Parking & Transportation Office. Paper hangtag permits are no longer
used on the MU Campus and an electronic license plate scanner is utilized to monitor and enforce
permitted parking. Parking for the scheduled Prebid Meeting has been setup for bidders as an
event registration with parking made available on the top level of the Tiger Avenue Parking
Structure near the Medical Science Building. Please use the link provided below to pre-register
your vehicle with MU Parking & Transportation that will take you through the necessary steps to
register your license plate. License plate, make, style and color of the vehicle will be required.

QUESTIONS:
1. Question 1 - The Room Finish Schedule of F1.30 Predominately has the floor finish of EXP-1. Does this
Exp-1 refer to the epoxy systems reference in Section 09 67 25 Reinforced & Non-Reinforced Epoxy
Wall Systems or the epoxy’s noted in Section 09 96 00 High Performance Coatings 09 96 00, 3.7, H.,
EPX-1 (Alternate).
a. EXP-1 on finish schedule for floor and base is to reference 09 67 23 - TROWELED QUARTZ
EPOXY RESINOUS FLOORING. Current finish legend references Troweled Epoxy. Addendum
002 will provide additional information.
2. Question 2 The Room Finish Schedule of F1.30 Predominately has the wall finish of PTE-1. Does this
PTE-1 refer to the epoxy systems reference in Section 09 67 25 Reinforced & Non-Reinforced Epoxy
Wall Systems or the epoxy’s noted in Section 09 96 00 High Performance Coatings 09 96 00, 3.7, G.?
a. The PTE-1 is intended to reference section 09 67 25 Reinforced & Non-Reinforced Epoxy Wall
Systems. Refer to interior lab elevations for extent of fiberglass reinforced epoxy wall system.

Standard Epoxy wall system to be applied at all locations where PTE-1 is shown on finish
schedule unless interior elevation states Fiberglass reinforced wainscot. Addendum 002 will
provide additional information.
3. Question 3 - Is it going to be required that we paint the new HVAC and misc. piping in Mechanical
Room A201 & M155 (reference M0.13, M3.01, FP1.01)?
a. Answer – ductwork, piping and sprinklers in A201 and M155 do not need to be painted.
b. Ceiling of A2.01 to be sprayed with cementitious fireproofing
4. Question 4 - Where might one find a good view of scheduled Room M124? Or could the length of the
corridor be defined? Partially viewed in lower Right-hand corner of G0.12?
a. Answer - Elevations of M124 to be provided in Addendum 002. Refer to A1.11 for overall
dimensions of plan and F1.10 for floor finish information.
5. Question 5 - Where can I see a detail of, or get a description of the “Closets” on each side of Rooms
A116 & A120?
a. Answer - Closets on sides of A116 & A120 to have the same floor, wall and ceiling finishes as
A116 & A120.
6. Question 6 - What is the intended wall finish for Alternate No. 3 Corridor M158?
a. Answer - Elevations of M158 to be provided in Addendum 002. M158 added to finish schedule
in addendum 001.
7. Question 7 - Rm A125 locker shower- Detail 10 shows no CT1 in shower but on F1-10 It is
marked on plans that all walls get CT1. Which is correct?
a. Answer - Ct-1 to be installed in locker areas, fiberglass reinforced epoxy system to be applied
in shower stall areas. A6.10 to be updated in addendum 001.
8. On A6-10 Detail 5- Mens locker west shows the shower wall gets ct1. Is this correct? Or
are the showers a prefab unit?
a. Answer - Showers to be epoxy reinforced wall system – info added in addendum 001. The
walls in the locker room as noted in detail 5/A6.10 are to receive tile up to the levels
shown.
9. General Note 4- Mop sink tile ,are we to use the CT1? No elevations or layout found per
the note. What room is the mop sink in? A150? and is there only one? Do we go from
inside corner to edge of the sink?
a. Answer - Only 1 mop sink in rm A150. Gen note 4 to be removed in addendum
001.
10. On all the ceramic wall details there is no schluter shown for the top of the wainscott walls
. Do you want a schluter Jolly on the top like on the outcorners?
a. Answer - Yes, additional items added to tile spec in addendum 001.

PLAN NOTES:
INSTALL EXHAUST GRILLES AT HEIGHTS OF 1' 6" AND 7'.
BALANCER TO MEASURE STATIC PRESSURE THROUGH EXHAUST VENT OF MACHINE AND THEN CLEAN SIDE CANOPY HOOD. USE THIS BALANCE DAMPER TO CREATE AN EQUIVALENT AIRFLOW AND PRESSURE LOSS THROUGH EACH. THE INTENT IS TO ENSURE EF-5 CAN OPERATE AS CONSTANT VOLUME AND WILL FUNCTION WITH THE OTHER EQUIPMENT.
PROVIDE BUBBLE-TIGHT CONTROL DAMPER, GREENHECK HBTR-151 OR EQUIVALENT.
PROVIDE WALL TOGGLE SWITCH LABELED "HVAC OPERATION" AND TIED INTO THE BMS. INTERLOCK OPERATION OF BUBBLE-TIGHT DAMPER AND VAV BOXES IN SPACE TO COMPLETELY SHUT-OFF AIRFLOW AS SWITCH IS FLIPPED. IF SWITCH IS TURNED OFF AND HVAC IS OFF TO THE SPACE FOR LONGER FOR 2 HOURS (ADJ) THE BMS SHALL ALARM.
PROVIDE VHP SENSOR IN ROOM, STERIS MODEL VHP-TS1000, MOUNTED AT 4'-0" AFF. SENSOR SHALL BE TIED INTO BOTH THE BMS AND VMS. IF HVAC CONTROL DAMPER IS TURNED "ON" AND VHP LEVELS EXCEED SAFE LEVELS OF 1 PPM (ADJ.), THE DAMPERS SHALL SHUT AND THE BMS SHALL ALARM.
INSTALL ALL CANOPY EXHAUST AT SAME LEVEL OR SLOPED BACK TO HOOD.
INSTALL OXYGEN DEFICIENCY MONITOR, PURE-AIRE MODEL TX-1100DRA OR EQUIVALENT, AT 48" AFF ON WALL. PROVIDE REQUIRED 24V TRANSFORMER AND PLUG INTO NEARBY WALL OUTLET.

PROVIDE DRAIN AT BOTTOM OF 7-STORY DUCT RISER AND SLOPE DUCT FROM GENERATOR TOWARDS DRAIN. INSULATE HORIZONTAL DUCT AND FIRST 5' OF VERTICAL RISER FOR SOUND ABSORPTION. INSULATION SHOULD BE EXTERIOR TYPE WITH ALUMINUM JACKET TO MATCH EXISTING FLUE TO THE EAST. REFER TO SPECIFICATION SECTION 23 51 00 FOR REQUIREMENT OF A PRE-ENGINEERED FLUE SYSTEM FOR THIS DUCT. SETPOINT REQUIRED BY THE APPLICABLE MODE OF OPERATION.
1.4 REHEAT COIL VALVE: THE REHEAT COIL VALVE SHALL MODULATE TO MAINTAIN THE SPACE
TEMPERATURE SETPOINT. A DISCHARGE TEMPERATURE SENSOR LOCATED DOWNSTREAM OF THE
REHEAT COIL SHALL MEASURE THE DISCHARGE AIR TEMPERATURE.
1.5 SPACE TEMPERATURE SETBACK (FOR ROOMS WITH OCCUPANCY SENSORS): IF ALL OF THE
OCCUPANCY SENSORS SERVED BY A GIVEN ZONE INDICATE THAT THE ZONE IS UNOCCUPIED
FOR AN ADJUSTABLE TIME PERIOD, THE EMCS SHALL ADJUST THE SPACE TEMPERATURE
SETPOINT TO A PREDETERMINED (ADJUSTABLE) SETPOINT. ONCE ANY OF THE OCCUPANCY
SENSORS SERVED BY A GIVEN ZONE INDICATE THAT THE ZONE IS OCCUPIED, THE EMCS SHALL
CHANGE THE SPACE TEMPERATURE SETPOINT TO THE NORMAL VALUE.
1.6 PRESSURIZATION CONTROL (FOR ROOMS WITH TRACKING PAIRS): THE SUPPLY AIR TERMINAL
UNIT VOLUME DAMPER SHALL MODULATE TO MAINTAIN PROPER TEMPERATURE CONTROL.

19. CHILLED WATER PUMPS
19.1 CONTROL SHALL BE THROUGH THE EMCS.
19.2 START/STOP: THE PUMP IS INTENDED TO OPERATE WHEN THE EMERGENCY
GENERATOR IS STARTED. IF THE CHILLED WATER PUMP IS GIVEN A START
COMMAND, THE PUMP SHALL START. IF THE CHILLED WATER PUMP CURRENT
TRANSFORMER (CT) INDICATES THE PUMP IS NOT RUNNING,THE EMCS SHALL
ALARM AND THE NEXT PUMP SHALL BE SENT A START COMMAND.
19.3 CHILLED WATER PRESSURE CONTROL: THE PUMP WILL UTILIZE THE
DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE SENSOR TO CONTROL PUMP SPEED. THE CHILLED
WATER PUMP VFD SHALL MODULATE THE CHILLED WATER PUMP SPEED TO
MAINTAIN THE CHILLED WATER DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE SETPOINT
(ADJUSTABLE). ONCE THE PUMP DROPS TO MINIMUM SPEED AND THE VALVE
CLOSES BELOW A DETERMINED SETPOINT (ADJUSTABLE) THE PUMP SHALL STOP.
