A Personal Profile
“My WORST work should be better or at par with the BEST that others can do.”
That is the motivation I lived by and the same principles have enabled me led many design teams to greater achievements.
More than 20 years in the industry, my creative journey has been inspiring and rewarding. The most memorable, as Head of Design Department at Acer Computer International, I was responsible for brand creation and product identity development for Acer computers. That was when Acer Aspire reigns worldwide market share with its unique product design. This fulfilled Acer's CEO, Stan Shih's "Form meets Functionality" design directives. The first to realize ‘OOBE’ (Out‐Of‐Box Experience) concept which offers new computer owners the enjoyment of their Acer computer with step‐by‐step print collateral to setup hardware and a user‐friendly pre‐installed graphical‐user interface (GUI) based software to quickly startup the computer, hassle free!
My creative path takes me as far as Paris to understudy Product Design Aesthetics with a French guru. Till today 3D visualization has become my forte and creative strength in presenting ideas. The amazing aspect of idea creation through the years are the advancement of design apps...I began designing with Adobe Illustrator Ver1 now its 13, similarly with Autodesk 3DMax...and more apps developed for mind's ideation. Imagine how much one's brain can adapt, digest and create! Putting my 3D app knowledge to the test, I did it… created a 3D virtual character host for a 26‐episode musical programme on national television broadcast, fully vivacious and perfectly lip synced!
Major campaign projects managed between 1999 ‐ 2004 includes, the EMC World Golf Cup Skills Challenge, Raffles Marina Western Circuit Regatta, HP/Oracle F1 PITSTOP, just to name a few. I also enjoy designing event gimmicks and multimedia gambit especially the unforgettable one where the Malaysian Prime Minister activated the launch to commence a video montage I created on the jumbo screen. WOW!
