The logic circuits produce gate control pulses for IGBTs and ensure that the two devices associated with a single output phase are not gated on simultaneously. REASONS FOR THE CHANGE: NGDR-xx boards The gate driver boards have ageing components like electrolytic capacitors .The estimated lifetime of the e lectrolytic capacitors is about 90 000 h ours. The NGDR-xx, NRED-61, NXPP-xx, NINT-xx and flat cables are the parts of thecontrol circuits for power plate modules. The logic circuits produce gate control pulsesfor IGBTs and ensure that the two devices associated with a single output phase arenot gated on simultaneously.

NRED-61 adapters (only 690 VAC units)

NRED-61 is thick-film hybrid and it is used as a voltage adapter between the DC linkand the power supply.

Improper operation of the adapter has been every now and then the reason for power

supply failures especially after over voltages in the dc link.We recommend replacing NRED-61 adapters every 9 years to avoid the risk of powersupply failures.

NXPP-xx, NINT-xx boards and flat cables

A set of NXPP-xx/NINT-xx /flat cable is used for a large amount of signaling.

We recommend changing the set of NXPP-xx/NINT-xx/ flat cable every 9 years toavoid the risk of random type of signaling errors especially in corrosive environment.

THE RESULTING EFFECT:

If the control boards do not work properly, there is a very high risk of IGBT damages inthe inverter units because of:

1. Wrong timing of control pulses.

2. Low or short control pulses.

3. Power supply failures

4. Random type of signaling errors
