WRITE NOW: SUPPORTING STUDENT SUCCESS BY PARTNERING WITH THE WRITING CENTER Timeline: Partnership has been evolving for 4 semesters and we continue to plan enhancements. Desire to assist students earlier in the writing/research process to support their success How? Co-locate writing center staff with librarians at the Reference Desk & work together to support writing process What? Increase is WC staff sessions and repeat users of service, Increase in mutual understanding of roles and outcomes of each unit. What’s next? Increase cross training for WC & librarians; Offer joint workshops for faculty; Try to measure impact of WC sessions on retention/GPA; Increase hours of service; Embedded WC & Librarian model CSN Facts: Urban Location; 19,115 FTE, over 60% non-white; In Fall 2014: 7,866 Reference ?s 392,000 Library visits 11,380 WC visits #writenowpartners WC & librarians co-write style guides for print/web and co-present at ‘cite write’ workshops.
