• China– ACM China gearing up to do more

• Chapters• Education• Awards• Conferences• Membership

– Significant relationship with CCF • MOU in place since January 2013• MOU is coming up for renewal. It may change.

– Translation of CACM to Chinese continues

• India– ACM India “Incorporated” within India– Second elected Council in place– Annual conference a success– ACM-W India growing– Research Board established as a committee of ACM India to

play a CRA-like role in India– Education initiative taking shape

• Europe– ACM Europe incorporated in the EU– First election of ACM Europe Council by ACM members in

Europe completed in June– EUACM established as a major European policy effort

• Modeled after USACM• Bringing technology policy issues to the European Commission

– Significant ACM Europe conference/event planned for September 2017

ORCID• Looking at future business models with less reliance on publications

• Summary– ACM is doing a lot – Still, like many organizations, ACM faces challenges– Unlike many organizations, ACM can address these challenges from a position of

strength• Strength of leadership (ACM has great volunteer leaders and staff)• Strength of brand (ACM is know worldwide for quality)• Strength of resources (ACM is incredibly, financially solid)• Strength of a vision (ACM knows where it is headed … at least in the short run)
