COMMUNITY SUMMIT FOR CITIZEN DIPLOMACY
OCT. 4 & 5, 2011
Opening Reception• The Pueblo of Isleta – New Mexico hosted the opening
reception the evening of Oct. 4 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Resort.
Carol Yarnall, left, President of ACIV, moderated the program, that included a presentation by Dr. Sherry Mueller, President Emeritus of the National Council for International Visitors.
The reception included a sumptuous buffet.

Plenary & Workshop Sessions, Oct. 5• The main sessions of the Community Summit on Citizen
Diplomacy were held in the Student Union Building on the main campus of the University of New Mexico.

Luncheon PlenaryCheo Torres, University of New Mexico, welcomes Richard Berry, Mayor of Albuquerque to the luncheon plenary.
Torres welcomed attendees to the campus and talked about sponsoring the summit. Mayor Berry at the luncheon proclaimed “Citizen Diplomacy Day” in Albuquerque
Luncheon PlenaryAmbassador Walter Cutler gave the luncheon plenary address on the impact on the U.S. of the political revolutions in the Arab countries of the Middle East.
