Server formerly resided in Caritas social

Continued implementation of Web 2.0 Training of Trainers (ToT) ICT

programming•Training was ongoing throughout the year at 8 community sites, including rural primary and secondary schools•Curriculum centered on teaching people functional Web 2.0 skills that can fuel collaboration in their community with various stakeholders

Developed and guided user generated Web 2.0 content

•Two functional Web 2.0 collaboration hubs developed: •BOSCO Intranet (bosco.home) •BOSCO Wikispaces site (bosco-uganda.wikispaces.net)

•Taking advantage of high band-width intranet and making efficient use of smaller internet pipe

Implemented Unicef small-scale funding for Web 2.0 training

•485 total people trained; 374 youth trained in basic Web 2.0 ICT skills•Level 1 Web 2.0 Certification is awarded•Increased usage of network corresponding with community trainings

•Network monitoring tool shows that usage of network increased dramatically as formal trainings began

Hosted advanced training Web 2.0 ICT workshop for lead site

Launched “Bridging Classrooms and Cultures” collaboration project

•Partnered with Unicef on small-scale funding proposal to expand to 5 new sites and implement Web 2.0 training•Finalizing a 2 year partnership with Unicef to expand network to 12 new sites and strengthen current sites; will expand into Kitgum and Pader Districts

•Have maintained partnership with Horizont3000 (Austrian Organization for Development cooperation) for the past 3 years•They provide:

•This proposed project aims to almost double current coverage, installing 16 additional project sites in rural schools and communities, and expand project coverage area from 2 to 4 districts

Conclusion

•Institutional Capacity Building (Grass root to Organisational level) towards Gradual phase out process•This means facing challenges like more resource mobilisation (fundraising, , recruiting more expertise/staff) and increasing the bandwidth etc
