Both in and out of classroom involvement, which encourages development of key skills that will help you become a well rounded student
Learn how to effectively communicate transferable skills
Improve your marketability for prospective employment and graduate admission
Be able to identify and strengthen skills through various involvement
Increase your knowledge of student services on campus and how these programs can assist you in achieving your goals
Develop networking relationships with faculty, staff, community members and employees
Gain a clear understanding of learning which takes place both inside and outside of the classroom
Ace is a 5 Step Process designed to help you identify opportunities to get involved at CSUF and to learn how to document, articulate and utilize your experiences.
Consider what skills you want to develop to support the following:academics career goals hobbies and special interestscommunities with which you want to connect
with Develop a plan which will serve as a guide
for your personal exploration.
Get involved early Strengthen and develop various skills by
becoming an active participant in your university and community.
Research and identify various opportunities on and off campus
Reflecting on your experiences will help you to understand the true value of your involvement
This step allows you to think of
your involvement and identify: what you have learnedskills you have developed or fine tuned
and how to effectively articulate them on paper
Keep a record of your experiences
This step will enable you to document your experiences on a Co-curricular Achievement Record worksheet (CAR). (Available in our office)
Apply the skills and knowledge you have gained through your co curricular involvement in your career, networking opportunities and resume
