    INTRODUCTION

    Persons 'ith disabilities are persons 'ith ph(sical or mental

    impairment 'ho are significantl( restricted in his abilit( to perform

    dail( living s)ills either continuousl( or periodicall(* And as a result of

    this parents+ communit( and some professionals are particularl(

    interested in helping them to be productive in their o'n 'a(s*

    #he %pecial Education in our countr( initiated the pro,ect

    #ransition Program for children 'ith Intellectual Disabilities* #hecurriculum domain for this program includes dail( living s)ills+ personal

    and social s)ills and occupational guidance and preparation and

    occupation* #he program is designed to teach 'or). to special

    education students age /0-11 and to support their gro'th into adulthood*

    #he program is anchored on the goal of helping students ac2uire the

    s)ills to secure and maintain emplo(ment after the( leave* As the(

    progress+ students develop to learn and to 'or) independentl(*

    ACCOMPLISHMENT

    #he students currentl( enrolled under this program did varied

    activities* #he( 'ere engaged in doing art activities 'hich developed

    their aesthetic domain* #he( 'ere trained to do some ,anitorial services

    li)e s'eeping the floor+ 'indo's and cabinets* #he( 'ere also taught

    on ho' to 'ash dishes properl(* #he( also did basic coo)ing s)ills* #he(

    helped in maintaining the plants on their garden b( 'atering it and

    removing the 'eeds* #hese simple (et challenging activities gave them

    happiness and contentment*

    mi3er+ 'ashing machine+ plates+ glass+ spoons+ for)s+ and others* #hese

    materials 'ere introduced to the pupils b( familiari4ing 'ith them+ on

    the first place and further on ho' to manipulate them* Pupils en,o(edtheir activities using the materials 'ith eagerness* #hrough this program

    pupils are e3pected to gain more s)ills 'hich 'ill help them become

    independent through proper guidance of their teacher+ famil( and other

    people around them*
