Clicking the “Help” icon on any page will launch the “Key Features” info box.
*Please note: The “Key Features” info box also contains phone numbers to
call if you require technical assistance during your assessment. ITS
representatives are available to assist via telephone Mon.-Fri., 8 a.m.-8 p.m.*
*Please note: This is the last introductory screen you will see before being
presented with your first question.*
Click the “Comment” icon to launch the comment box. You can submit a comment at
any point in looking at the question and more than one comment per question if necessary.
*Please note: ABS will research every comment submitted. Due
to high volume, we are unable to respond individually to those who
submit comments.*
Clicking the “Save and Exit” icon will launch this page.
You may exit the assessment when needed and return at any time within your two-week assessment window.
If you close your browser window after submitting an answer, your assessment will auto-save and will return to the last question you were working on.
When you answer a question correctly, you will be presented with a green check upon submission of your response.
A rationale followed by references used for the question will be presented after
submitting an answer, whether you answered correctly or incorrectly.
Click next to continue to the next question.
Clicking on a reference link will open that link in a new
window.
Click the “Submit” icon to submit your answer.
*Please note: Every answer that is submitted is saved. If you choose an
answer but close your browser before submitting, that question will remain unanswered. Upon relaunching your assessment, you will pick back up at
this question.*
Information to Keep in Mind:You will be presented with a question. Answer it to move forward. You cannot move back. Your opportunity for a second attempt will be presented after you complete and submit all 40 questions. The second attempt will present only the questions that you answered incorrectly.Every time an answer is submitted for scoring, progress is saved. If the assessment is continued on a different computer or technical difficulties are experienced, previous work will not be lost. The 40 questions addressing either Core Surgery or the selected modular area will be presented in a random order. The patient scenarios in Core Surgery may not reflect the practice-related area that was selected, but the underlying topics addressed in those questions relate to core surgical concepts.A score of at least 40% (16 questions) must be achieved on the first attempt to qualify for a second attempt in the same testing administration. Correctly answering 80% (32 questions) total is required to pass. Participants should track the number of correct and incorrect answers themselves. Because this assessment is presented in your browser, you have the ability to zoom and change your view. Zoom quickly and easily by holdng down the “Ctrl” key along with the (+) key to zoom in or the (-) key to zoom out.
When you answer a question incorrectly, you will be presented with a red X upon submission of your response.
*Please note: Navigation is forward-only - you are
unable to return to previous questions after submission of an answer, so be sure to
take time to read the rationale and review the references
before moving on.*
