This 20-part half-hour documentary series explores the fascinating lives of watery critters - from super-sighted smashing shrimp to terrifying trash-eating tiger sharks.

UK children’s favourite Barney and his mate Gemma journey to our shores and discover the beautiful and bizarre world of the Great Barrier Reef. It’s the biggest barrier reef in the world, with the greatest collection of animals on the planet. We meet the reef’s conmen, the night owls, the best of friends and the spineless wonders. Just imagine one huge family tree dating back 18 million years connecting the wacky, wonderful, miniscule and miraculous….it’s all here in Barney’s Barrier Reef!!

At thirteen, CJ (voiced by Holly Brisley) is already a hot DJ - the only trouble is most of her gigs are in her own bedroom. She can spin discs like no-one else, mix and scratch tracks like a pro - but in the deader than dead end of town where she lives, almost nobody wants to know. CJ has a passion – to play her music to the world.

CJ’s best friends are talented, hip-hop jazz musician Si and logical Lesley who prefers hitting the books to dance parties.

Episode 3: What’s In A Name? – Monday December 7 at 6:20pm on ABC3

Wondering if it is her name stopping her from scoring some of the good gigs around town, CJ begins to use the name ‘Cherry Passion’. With new business cards printed, all seems to be going well…that is until wannabe DJs ‘The Patels’ go ahead and begin using ‘CJ the DJ’ for their DJ-ing business. Furious and wanting her name back, CJ challenges them to a DJ battle.

My Place


The new ABC TV drama series My Place is the story of the children who live in the very same spot in Australia over 130 years. Opening in 2008 and taking us back to 1888, the series introduces us to 13 kids, all with a talent for some kind of trouble, each hiding up the same old fig tree, each with a story to tell.

The series is based on the acclaimed, multi-award winning children’s book written by Nadia Wheatley and Donna Rawlins in 1988. It is also accompanied by a rich website in which kids and their families can explore the world of the My Place kids and have fun with the history of each decade.

My Place – the series, the website and the book – is a rare kids’ story of Australia.

Episode 2 - Monday, December 7 at 8pm on ABC3Mohammad is 10 and he’s new at school and wants to join the cricket team. There are no places and he ends up playing with the girls – who prove to be the better side. It’s 1998.

Episode 3 - Tuesday, December 8 at 8pm on ABC3Lily’s cousin Phoung arrives with her parents from Vietnam. But the trophy cousin turns out to be a real threat to Lily’s status at home and at school. It’s 1988.

Episode 4 - Wednesday, December 9 at 8pm on ABC3Mike knows a lot about Australian muscle cars from 1968 to 1978 but the other kids think he’s odd and he feels he’s only got one friend, Ben. But is Ben a real friend? It’s 1978.

Episode 5 - Thursday, December 10 at 8pm on ABC3Sophia is 10. She’s a spy for the yayas and she’s determined to get rid of her brother Michaelis’s Anglo girlfriend before he leaves for Vietnam. It’s 1968.

Episode 6 - Friday, December 11 at 8pm on ABC3Michaelis is 10 and from Kalymnos. He wants to be Australian not Greek but even more he wants a television so he can watch Robin Hood and be accepted into the gang at the milkbar. It’s 1958.

Now her school friends are enjoying all the fun that comes with being a teenager, but her eccentric South-Asian parents are pretty fond of their old-school values... So what's a girl to do?
