Change and Food Security in WANA Kuwait Declaration on Climate Change Identified several key recommendations, knowledge gaps, and opportunities for

policy makers, researchers and extension systems, and NGOs to implement programs designed to minimize short-and long-term vulnerability of the WANA region to climate change.

The Main recommendations are Integrate science, practices and policy by mainstreaming adaptation into existing

projects and programs, and strengthen cooperation among relevant stakeholders to better understand how farmers and others are coping with climate change.

4.1 Near East Rural & Agricultural Knowledge and Information Network (NERAKIN-RAIS)

This Information Network was developed in collaboration with FAO/RNE: • It is a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration

for Agricultural Research and Development (ARD) for target groups and stakeholders.

• NERAKIN-RAIS is playing a major role in building information infrastructure at regional and national level.

• Advocate and promote increased, improved and targeted investments in the development of “spatial data infrastructure” for research in GIS applications.

• Advocate the need for new capacities, especially human capacities and skills in the area of GIS.

7. 7-Plant Genetic Resources (PGR) Network AARINENA Network delegation participated in the Fourth

Regular Session of the Governing Body of ITPGRFA held in Bali, March 2011 Under GFAR

The Network held its Coordinating Board Meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries in Sultanate of Oman, June 2011 and adopted the following recommendations: Preparation of PR conservation strategy in WANA in
