THE CHALLENGE

In a bid to modernize this important educationalsession at the event, Concise were asked toreplace the cumbersome Microscopes with iPadsand present the learning materials in a digitalplatform, allowing attendees to complete a virtualdermatopathology and multiple choice exam. The iPads and platform were supported by ourPrivate Wifi Network, Secure Onsite Server andour experienced onsite Project Managers andTechnicians.

ENGAGEMENT

Assessment takers were able to navigate theChime app to easily find each image as itcorresponded to questions. Their experiencewas enhanced with the native Pinch and Zoomfunctionality the iPad brings. Because each image was readily available onthe Chime app, attendees could now spendmore time analyzing each image and thinkingabout the right answer. 

APPLAUSE

Instead of unloading and reloaded glass slides ontothe Microscope, attendees were now able to takethe test at a less stressful pace. Above all, Concisewere able to support this long-standing event in amodern way which is attractive to a digitallynative audience and supports AAD’s drive tocontinually evolve their program and outreach.

Attendees were pushed to an instructional welcome letter, explaining thesequence of the practice exam and review sessions.

From an image gallery, test takers could navigate through the images associatedwith multiple choice questions in their practice exam.

Our clients at the AAD also benefited greatly fromthis approach through time and cost savings.Sourcing, delivering, unpacking, preparing andcarefully removing 250 microscopes is a hugeamount of work. Add this to the 250 slide trays and15,000 slides that would have to be prepared andloaded too,].  Switching to images on iPads made asignificant difference. Furthermore, because Concise’s onsite team isgeared to support last minute changes, we were ableto accommodate a fairly fluid rehearsal day withimages being swapped out and content reordered tomatch the final flow of the assessment.
