เรยนทานผอานทเคารพสขสนตวนปใหมไทยแดทานผอานทกทานครบ ผมหวงวาทานคงมความสขกบครอบครวในชวง เทศกาลสงกรานตทผานมา ผมตระหนกดวาเทศกาลสงกรานตมความส�าคญตอชาวไทยเปนอยางมาก เพราะเปนชวงเวลาทสมาชกในครอบครวไดมโอกาสเฉลมฉลองรวมกน แบงปนวนด ๆ ระหวางกน และกระชบความสมพนธใหแนนแฟนยงขน และนคอเหตผลทวนไทยใหการสนบสนนเทศกาลดงกลาว ตลอดมาเพอเปนการสบสานวฒนธรรมประเพณอนดงามของไทย

คณะผบรหารของวนไทยตระหนกเสมอวาสมาชกของครอบครววนไทยทกคนคอสมบตอนล�าคาทสดทจะท�าใหบรษทฯ เจรญเตบโตดงวตถประสงคทตงไว ดวยความยดมนในคานยมและ วฒนธรรมขององคกร วนไทยจงมงเนนการสรางความผกพนของพนกงานใหมตอองคกรและการสราง องคกรแหงการเรยนร ซงจะชวยพฒนาและสนบสนนใหพนกงานบรรลเปาหมายทงในระยะสนและระยะยาวเพอเสรมสรางการเจรญเตบโตของบรษทฯ อยางตอเนอง

ลาสด บรษทฯ ไดเปดตวแนะน�า “รปแบบการบรหาร” และ “รปแบบบคลากร” ซงถอเปนคานยมใหม ของวนไทย

เพอสนบสนนใหวสยทศนของบรษทฯ สมฤทธผลอยางแทจรง และเปนแนวทางประกอบในการตดสนใจ ของผบรหาร บรษทฯ ไดน�า “รปแบบการบรหาร” (Management Model) มาใชเปนตวชวดความส�าเรจ ขององคกร และบงชพฤตกรรมทคาดหวงของพนกงานทกระดบในองคกร เพราะการทบรษทฯ จะกาวส การเตบโตในอนาคตนน สงทส�าคญอยางยงคอการมโครงสรางทางวฒนธรรมองคกรทแขงแกรง ทจะชวยสนบสนนการท�างานเปนทม รปแบบการบรหารมงเนนสงเสรมธรกจทมความส�าคญเชงกลยทธ โดยสงเสรมใหเกดการมอบอ�านาจ ความรบผดชอบ และวนยในการด�าเนนธรกจของบรษท รวมทงพฒนาในดานความเปนเลศในการปฏบตงานอกดวย

“รปแบบบคลากร” (People Model) จะก�าหนดสงทพนกงานสามารถคาดหวงตอบรษทฯ และสงท บรษทฯ คาดหวงตอพนกงาน รปแบบบคลากรเปรยบเสมอนสญญาทางสงคมรวมกนระหวาง

Dear Reader,Happy Thai New Year to all valuable readers. I hope you enjoyed joy and happiness with your families during Songkran festival. I fully realize that Songkran, the traditional Thai New Year, is very important for all Thai people because it is time for family members celebrating together, sharing the good old days and strengthening relationship. That is why the company has never been reluctant to give support to inherit Thai culture and tradition through this festival.

At Vinythai, the management always realizes that each Vinythai family member is the most valuable asset to reach the Company’s growth objectives. Inspired by the Company’s core values and rich culture, Vinythai supports the development of its people in a learning organization to enable every employee to achieve his/her full potential and insure continuous Company’s growth.

The Company recently launched the “Management Model” and the “People Model” that give another look at the Vinythai’s values.

To realize the Company’s vision and to guide decision-making processes, the “Management Model” defines the key Company success drivers and the expected behaviors at all levels in the organization. This solid structure helps support Vinythai’s culture and the way the Company works as a team. This Management Model focuses the Businesses on their strategic priorities, strengthens empowerment, accountability and discipline through the Company and develops the need of operational excellence.

The “People Model” defines what each individual can expect from the Company, and what the Company can expect from each individual. This People Model is a social contract that defines the respective responsibilities of individuals on one hand, and of the Company on the other hand. In other words, the People Model is a “new deal”, specifying what the Company’s expectations are from its employees and what employees can expect from management in return.

Vinythai is confident that both the “Management Model” and the “People Model” will further strengthen Vinythai’s values and will create a new Company culture that will drive future growth and prosperity.

Vinythai Joins Marine and Coastal Resource Preservation and Development ActivityThe First Naval Area Command cordially invited Vinythai Public Company Limited to join its marine and coastal resource preservation and development activity held at Kham Island in Chon Buri Province to celebrate His Majesty the King’s 86th Birthday Anniversary.

After paying tribute to His Majesty on this auspicious occasion, Vice Admiral Weeraphan Sukkon, Commander of First Naval Area Command and his officers, Mr. Sompot Cheeranorawanich, Vice President Corporate Affairs and Communications of Vinythai Public Company Limited together with government officials and students participated in many activities arranged for preservation and development of Kham Island, including tree planting, coral cultivation, garbage collection along the coast and release of clownfish.

Vinythai Receives Halal Certificate and Halal Team Prize The Central Islamic Committee of Thailand (CICOT), Rayong Office awarded Halal Certificate 2013 and Halal Team Prize to Vinythai Public Company Limited. The award ceremony was held at the Kameo Hotel, Rayong where Mr. Marc Jacqmin, Plant Manager of Vinythai received the award from Mr. Paisal Abdulloh, President of The Central Islamic Committee of Rayong.

Halal certification is aimed at encouraging entrepreneurs to evidently implement Halal standard throughout the production process.

Vinythai receives Energy Saving Leader AwardMr. Pongsak Raktapongpaisal, Caretaker Energy Minister presented Energy Saving Leader Award to Mr. Supachat Chairatanathavorn, Internal Audit Department Manager, as representative of Vinythai Public Company Limited for Vinythai’s participation in the project to campaign for energy-saving in building under voluntary agreement. The award ceremony was held at Plaza Athenee, A Royal Meridien Hotel, Bangkok.

The said project is an initiative of the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE) in collaboration with Thailand Environment Institute (TEI), Thailand Business Council for Sustainable Development (TBCSD) and Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) aiming at enhancing business entrepreneurs’ awareness of efficient energy use and creating a network that brings together industrial factories with the optimum energy management efficiency to serve as a key mechanism for practical energy saving in Thailand.

On this same occasion, Mr. Chaiwat Puttanuntadech, BPIM Manager, also represented Vinythai in receiving the certificate for outstanding accomplishment in Efficient Energy Management which resulted from Vinythai’s awareness and commitment to energy saving.

Vinythai receives White Plant Award Level 1 Mr. Panich Jitjang, Director General of Department of Labour Protection and Welfare presented the certificate for White Plant Award (Drug-Free Workplace) Level 1 to Mr. Apichart Kijjaroenvisal, Senior ECH Department Manager (at that time), as representative of Vinythai Public Company Limited at the award ceremony held by Rayong Labour Protection and Welfare Office at the Star Hotel in Muang District, Rayong Province.

The White Industrial Estate for Drug Prevention is an anti-drug campaign held in honor of His Majesty the King’s 86th Birthday Anniversary with the objective to encourage entrepreneurs to put in place standard systems to prevent and solve drug problems for better health and living conditions of workers.

ความเสยหายและความสญเสยนอยทสดVinythai provides Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Plan for Rayongwitthayakhom Nikhom Utsahakam SchoolVinythai Public Company Limited in collaboration with the Office of Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate and Map Ta Phut Municipality organized a handover ceremony for its provision of a Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Plan to Rayongwitthayakhom Nikhom Utsahakam School in Rayong Province. The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Marc Jacqmin, Plant Manager, who officially presented the plan to Mr. Tawatchai Suwannaka, Director of Rayongwitthayakhom Nikhom Utsahakam School among the attendance of representatives from the Office Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate and Map Ta Phut Municipality as well as people from Chak Luk Ya community.

The Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Plan was created to enhance the school’s efficiency in handling emergency cases. The plan will also prepare the school’s personnel for effective response and recovery to minimize damages and losses until the situation returns to normal.

“Pass the Love Forward” is a new magnificent project of Interface, the world’s largest designer and maker of carpet tile which is one of Vinythai’s valuable partners. The project aims to encourage Interface’s stakeholders to engage in Social Responsibility program by showing that we will be “doing well by doing good” together. The launching ceremony has been greatly organized at Interface’s manufacturing site, Chonburi province on March 21, 2017. Many interested suppliers and business partners fully attended the event including Vinythai.

Once an Interface’s partner buys carpets for either use or donation, Interface will double the amount of carpets for donation. In February, the Green Purchasing Network (GPN) board meeting decided to remove an article in its green purchase guidelines requirement of labeling PVC. The article was based on a misunderstanding that incineration of PVC increases the generation of dioxins.

The GPN Guidelines are used as criteria for green purchase policies of the local governments, community bodies and companies. The article is included in 10 guidelines covering wide range of categories, such as office supplies, home electrical appliances, stationeries. The first one was the one for stationeries established in 1996.

PVC, comparing with other commonly-used plastics, is a material which uses less fossil fuel as resource. Many PVC products serve much longer periods, more than 15 years, than other major plastics.

changed its policy to send plastic wastes to incinerators instead to landfill in 2008 which raised the concentration of chlorine in the incinerators, however, the amounts of dioxin emissions remain to gradually decline.

VEC encourage those who have their green purchase policies following the GPN guidelines to promptly change them according to the GPN decision, to take advantage of the environmental performance of the PVC products.

It also has a better environmental performance as it is easy to mechanically recycle. Such advantages were well taken by the PVC floor-covering manufacturers to win the Eco Mark Awards in 2011 and 2012 consecutively. However, the misunderstanding about PVC as a dioxin-generator has not been cleared up for a long time.

The amounts of dioxins generated are not proportional to that of chlorine in the mass incinerated. Chlorine exists in many forms, such as salt in garbage bleach in paper products, etc., and the amount derives from PVC is limited. Burning anything can generate dioxins as a trace of chlorine also exists in the atmosphere. However, the generation can be drastically reduced by controlling the incineration. ใหเกดชองวางอากาศมากขนดวยเชนกน เนองจากการพาความรอน ผานอากาศจะเกดไดยากกวาการพาความรอนผานเนอวสด การออกแบบวธดงกลาวจงเปนการชวยปรบปรงประสทธภาพ ในดานการพาความรอนไดดมากยงขน

2. การออกแบบเพอใหมระบบชนโฟมภายในโครงสรางโปรไฟล

การออกแบบใหมวสดโฟมทมขอเดนในเรองการเปนฉนวนความรอน โดยการเสรมวสดโฟมในชนในเพอลดการน�าความรอนของ วสดเสรมแรงตระกลโลหะ (metal reinforcement) เพอชวยปรบปรงประสทธภาพในดานการน�าความรอนโดยรวมของกรอบหนาตางใหมคาต�าลงยงขน

3. การออกแบบเพอเพมประสทธภาพในเรองความแขงแรง และประสทธภาพดานพลงงานดวยการใชวสดคอมโพสท (composite material) แทนวสดเสรมแรงตระกลโลหะ (metal reinforcement)

4. การออกแบบโดยใชวสดหลายอยางรวมกน (co-composite design) เพอชวยปรบปรงประสทธภาพในดานการน�าความรอน และ อายการใชงานทยนยาวมากขน เชน การปรบปรงเรองผวหนา ชนงานดวยระบบ Coextrusion และหรอระบบ Lamination รวมทง การปรบปรงคณสมบตการดดซบความรอนทผวโดยใชระบบ Coating เปนตน

uPVC Windows for Energy Efficiency (Part 2) Refer to an article in the last issues, mentioned about the 3 energy flow occur through the opening area especially window and door as well as the key concerned factors that would effect the heat insulation of building material. As the opening area (door and window) are the key concerned area in the building where energy loss or gaining the outside heat, this is the main reason of why Energy efficiency window come into the discussion point when thinking about energy efficiency building or green building.

Innovative design for Energy efficiency purpose;The innovative design is more and more focus on it profile structural design with purpose to improve material characteristics as well as to develop with combination of different material to improve the thermal behavior ie. thermal conduction, convection and emission from window profile to environment, sometime the mixed technology are also used in order to achieve lowest U-Value. There are several available innovative product ie.

1. Profile structural with Multi-chamber system, the purpose of multi chamber design is to improve the thermal insulation and increasing of air gap in the profile structure which would improve the heat transfer from on side to another (heat convection in air media is less than from neat material).

2. Profile structural with foam core, design with foam core is not only purpose for the strength but also improve its thermal insulation behavior and reduce the heat conduction of the metal reinforcement. This would improve the efficiency of window frame and reduce the U-Value of oval window set.

3. Profile with composite material or other low thermal

conductivity metal reinforcement which has lower thermal conductivity than metal. ie. the combination of wood with uPVC or combination of uPVC with Aluminium.

In 1987, The United Nations’ Report of the World Commission on Environment and Development: Our Common Future defined the concept of Sustainable Development: development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. The concept of sustainable development has been broken out into three constituent domains: environmental sustainability, economic sustainability and social sustainability.

Elkington’s triple bottom line is intended to advance the elements of sustainability in business practices. The three measures include: profit (the economic value created by the company, or the economic benefit to the surrounding community and society), people (the fair and favorable business practices regarding labor and the community in which the company conducts its business) and planet (the use of sustainable environmental practices and the reduction of environment impact).

Vinythai was among 17 companies granted the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand’s (IEAT) Gold Star Award from Dr. Veerapong Chaiperm, IEAT Governor due to the fact that it has earned the Good Environmental Governance and Safety Award (Green Star Award) in Excellence level for seven years straight.

This Gold Star Award reflects the company’s commitment to ensuring the sustainability of its enterprises whilst safeguarding the health of society. Vinythai executives say they are fully determined to achieve harmony between their industrial activities, neighboring communities and the local environment, in alignment with the key principles of Solvay Way.

To give this honor, the award committee, comprising staff of the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand Public Health staff of Map Ta Phut Municipality, locals and press, visited Vinythai’s plant twice and assessed twelve areas:
