Hannah’s Story

Hannah’s Solution?

• Prayer• Vow (Mt 5:33-37)• God granted…• She Fulfilled her vow

Because Hannah was faithful To God…..

God filled her with wisdom

Hannah’s Wisdom, 1 Sam 2:1-10

1 Then Hannah prayed and said, "My heart exults in the LORD; My horn (strength / power) is exalted in the LORD, My mouth speaks boldly against my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation. 1 Sam 2:1 (NASB)

Wisdom Learned• God answers prayers!

• Strengthened her

• Courage to speak out against her enemies

• Priorities straight – rejoiced in her salvation!

Hannah’s Wisdom

2 " There is no one • holy like the LORD,

• Indeed, there is no one besides You,

• Nor is there any rock like our God. 1 Sam 2:2 (NASB)

Wisdom Learned• God is supreme – no equal!

In Isa 45-46, 9x Isaiah wrote “I am the Lord and there is no other.”

• God is a perfect refuge in time of trouble. 5 ”For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock.” Psalms 27:5 (NASB)

3 " Boast no more so very proudly, • Do not let arrogance

come out of your mouth; • For the LORD is a God of

knowledge, • And with Him actions are

weighed.

• God knows everything

• He will judge our actions

4 The bows of the mighty men are broken,

Wisdom Learned• God is all powerful! “He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariots with fire.” Psalms 46:9 (NASB)• God strengthens us for

battle. 39 For You have girded me with strength for battle; Psalms 18:39 (NASB)

5 "Those who were full hire themselves out for bread,

• But those who were hungry cease to hunger.

• Even the barren gives birth to seven,

• But she who has many children languishes. 1 Sam 2:5 (NASB)

Wisdom Learned• God’s children will win!• 16 So the last shall be first,

and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen. Matt 20:16 (KJV)

• Jas 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

6 " The LORD kills and makes alive;

Wisdom Learned• God is totally sovereign

He brings down to Sheol and raises up. 1 Sam 2:6 (NASB)

7 " The LORD makes poor and rich;

Wisdom Learned• God is in charge of

Prosperity. 18 But you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth, that He may confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. Deut 8:18 (NASB)

7 He brings low, He also exalts. 1 Sam 2:7 (NASB)

Wisdom Learned• God is in charge of one’s

station in life.21 "It is He who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men And knowledge to men of understanding. Dan 2:21 (NASB)

8 " He raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy from the ash heap To make them sit with nobles, And inherit a seat of honor;

For the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, And He set the world on them. 1 Sam 2:8 (NASB)

Wisdom Learned• God can improve our lot in

life• God created the heavens

and earth. 16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities— all things have been created through Him and for Him. Col 1:16 (NASB)

Hannah’s Wisdom

9 " He keeps the feet of His godly ones,

But the wicked ones are silenced in darkness;

For not by might shall a man prevail. 1 Sam 2:9 (NASB)

Wisdom Learned• God watches out for His

children (Ps 91:11)

• Wicked ones are on their own. Destiny is torment and hell. (Mt 13:41-42)

• The victory belongs to the Lord. (Ps 33:16, Zech 4:6)

Hannah’s Wisdom

10 " Those who contend with the LORD will be shattered; Against them He will thunder in the heavens, The LORD will judge the ends of the earth; And He will give strength to His king, And will exalt the horn of His anointed." 1 Sam 2:10 (NASB)

Wisdom Learned• Mistake to reject God

• God’s power is overwhelming. He has the final say.

• May be a prophetic reference to Jesus. God will strengthen His saints.

Question:• How did Hannah get such knowledge?

• How did she become an awesome womanof God?

Having tried everythingElse and failed….

Then, she called out to God…

To Become an Awesome Woman of God

Action Items• Cry out to God in prayer until you hear from

God. – She, greatly distressed, prayed to the LORD and
