Ezekiel 36:31-35

FRESH HOPERom 5 3 We also have joy with our troubles, because we know that these troubles produce patience. 4 And patience produces character, & character produces hope. 5 And this hope will never disappoint us, because God has poured out his love to fill our hearts. He gave us his love through the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to us. NCV

FRESH HOPE

Hope: the confident expectation & anticipation of good, improvement or a positive end result to a desire.

1) Fresh Hope is Fortified as We See Our Progress- Eze 36:31-35

33 ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “On the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will also enable you to dwell in the cities & the ruins shall be rebuilt.

1) Fresh Hope is Fortified as We See Our Progress- Eze 36:31-35

34 The desolate land shall be tilled instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass by.

1) Fresh Hope is Fortified as We See Our Progress- Eze 36:31-35

35 So they will say, ‘This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden; & the wasted, desolate & ruined cities are now fortified & inhabited.’

When we see progress, it strengthens hope within us. In order to see progress, we must recognize God’s work in our life, learn to be thankful for it and celebrate His work.

When God gets ready for you to take a new step or direction in His activity, it will be in sequence with

what He has been doing in your life.

Henry Blackaby, Experiencing God

In recognizing His work, we can put down spiritual

markers to see our life progress. These markers helps us to see how He builds your character & gives you direction in an

orderly fashion with a divine purpose in mind.Henry Blackaby, Experiencing God

Progress- Experiencing God’s Work In Us

2 Cor 3 17 Now, the Lord is the Spirit; & where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Progress- Experiencing God’s Work In Us

2 Cor 3 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Progress- Experiencing God’s Work In Us

Hope comes not as we grow, but as God grows in us, developing us into the image of Christ.

Progress- Experiencing God’s Work Through Us

Eph 2 10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Progress- Experiencing God’s Work Through Us

Hope grows as we see the evidence of us doing God’s work. Idleness does not grow any hope.

Progress- Experiencing God’s Work Through Us

2 Corinthians 9 6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, & he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

Progress- Experiencing God’s Work Through Us

2 Corinthians 9 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

Progress- Moving Through Difficulty

Rom 15 4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance & the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

Progress- Moving Through Difficulty

Rom 15 5 May the God who gives endurance & encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus

Progress- Moving Through Difficulty

Hope requires that we move through difficulty, and have some staying power in our faith. When we make it through hard times, we not only experience relief, but grow our hope.

Do I see the progress that God is making in my life?

Do I believe that God can make progress in my life?
