Judah ruled by Babylon and had to pay tribute to Nebuchadnezzar (2 Kings 24:1). 70 Years Egyptians encouraged Judah to rebel. Zedekiah, a puppet king appealed to the Egyptians for help and once again rebelled. Nebuchadnezzar sieged Jerusalem for 30 months. The rebellion was crushed. Zedekiah and the remaining survivors were carried off as slaves to Babylon. Nebuchadnezzar plundered the Temple and destroyed the city of Jerusalem along with Solomons Temple (Jeremiah 39:1-10, 52:1-23, 2 Kings 20b-25:21).
