INTRODUCTION
This report is a compilation study of recent exploration
including the Geotem Survey on or in the vicinity of a group of 8
unpatented mining claims in Wark Township, porcupine Mining
Division, District of Cochrane, Ontario. See Figure l for
general location and Figure 2 for claim locations in Wark
Township.
The area is flat, locally swampy, land with total relief of about
45 feet. The North Porcupine River cuts midway through the
claims flowing south of east. See map sheet titled, Terraquest
Ltd Airborne magnetic and VLF EM Survey interpretation for local
claim locations. Access to the property is via: bush roads from
highway 656 about 5 kilometers to the west, by boat along the
river in spring runoff, or bush roads l kilometer from the
Ontario Northland Railway to the southwest. The claims are 18
kilometers north of the city of Timmins.
The group of 8 claims cover almost 320 acres, about 150 hectares,
located as follows:

HISTORY OF EXPLORATIONPage 5
The Texas Gulf rush of 1964 sparked extensive geophysical a
diamond drill examination of this area. The Kidd Creek mine, lu
km to the northwest, is in Kidd Township which adjoins Wark
township to the west. Numerous airborne surveys cover the area dating from that time, but are not generally available to the public.
North American Rare Metals Limited did magnetic and horizontal
loop Em Surveys covering the area in 1964 and is available as file T688 from the Ontario Geological Survey, Resident Geologist in Timmins. Hollinger Consolidated Gold Mines did VLF and
magnetic surveys in 1971 available as File T903. This work identified a northwest trending conductor near the western
boundary of the claim group. Comstate Resources identified soil gold anomalies south of the claim group, their work is available as file T2482 (1984).
Terraquest conducted airborne magnetometer and VLF surveys early in 1988 which cover the full 8 claim group. Their work is available in assessment file T3.063 from the Resident geologists office, Ontario Geological Survey, Timmins. Included with that
file is a ground survey including magnetometer, VLF and horizontal loop surveys conducted by this writer for Mr. Salo.

GEOLOGY
Ontario Geological Survey Compilation Series Map 2205 covers Wark
Township. It indicates the presence of a northwest trending
fault following the North Porcupine River across the claim group.
Northeast of the fault clastic sedimentary rocks, composed of
greywackes, argillites, siltstones cover the area, to the
southeast a series of felsic pyroclastic meta volcanics is
indicated in contact with the sediments and forming a synclinal
fold. Beyond these interpretations from a map at a scale of l
inch to 4 miles little is known of the geology as there are no
out crops and no close drill holes.
Page 10
GEOPHYSICAL EVALUATION
This study is an expansion on the data from the Geotem airborne
EM survey. To accomplish this, the flight line profiles were
obtained from R. B. Barlow, Chief of the Geophysics/Geochemistry
Section, Ontario Geological Survey. Of the information
represented on these profiles, the 2nd Vertical derivative of
magnetics was extractable and channel l at 350 microseconds which
is the most responsive and representative profile was extracted.
Because of low amplitude in the magnetics on the profiles this
data was recovered from the map of the total intensity magnetic
survey. All are plotted on the same base maps at a scale of l to
5,000 covering the claims area. With this data the several other
surveys pertinent to the area including Terraquests airborne VLF
EM and magnetic surveys and this writej^^rjsund surveys with
interpretations are included. In all a collection of 11 maps are
reproduced at the same scale showing the available data on this
interesting property.
The writer has a natural bias to ground surveys, first because
this is what he does, but primarily as is concluded by the study
of Kornik, McGrath, Holroyd and Hood 1975 "Airborne surveys can
never possess the same resolution of an equivalent ground
survey" . The ground surveys were conducted using a proton
precession magnetometer, Scintrex MP2, a Crone VLF, and Geonix
EM17L. The grid used has lines 125 meters apart in an east-west
direction and stations every 25 meters.
Page 11
GEOPHYSICAL EVALUATION (Continued)
The Geotem EM survey strongly identifies a series of north-south
conductors on the north side of the North Porcupine River,
flight line 2300/2N flies directly over and along one of these
that has been located by the ground surveys. To the west on line
2280N another structure is traced. The intensity of the response
is due to the transmitter and receiver both on the same conductor
at the same time, effectively causing a short circuiting of the
signal. Though these conductors respond on 9 channels they are
not identified as anomalies. It is possible a third parallel
structure to the east between flight lines 2320/2N and 2330S is
responsible for the strong but wandering response since neither
line is close enough to resolve the signal. These three weak
conductors north of the river are thought to be tensional
fractures radiating from an intrusive structure located along and
to the south of the North Porcupine River.
The intrusive structure is identifiable by the presence of
flanking magnetic highs. These are associated with potassic
alteration halos including the presence of iron oxides. The
magnetic low over the structure is associated with a capping
alteration indicated by quartz carbonate veins and often
tourmaline epidote type mineralization. These patterns are
readily identified from both terraquests and Geotems derivative
studies of the magnetic field and the ground magnetic survey.
Page 12
GEOPHYSICAL EVALUATION (Continued)
The Geotem survey does not identify a conductor over this
proposed intrusive structure but just west of the property along
the same trend on flight line 2260N fiducle 404210, a 12 channel
response, anomaly S is identified. Terraquest identified but one
conductor associated with the intrusive structure. The ground
survey identified several conductive structures but due to the
wide grid spacing it was impossible to identify their
orientation. As a result the conductors in the intrusive
structure are indicated as two amorphous zones.
Page 13
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
The interesting structure on this property is along the North
Porcupine River and the areas directly south of it. It is marked
by a magnetic depression coincident with several short
conductors. Lateral to this zone are magnetically high shoulders
and identified to the north are lateral radiating tensional
fractures.
A first step before drilling can be considered is the definition
of the internal components of this structure. To do this a new
grid should be run using line 1+87.5 S as baseline. Picket lines
should be run both north and south from this baseline a minimum
of 200 meters with stations marked every 10 meters. These lines
should be spaced a maximum of 50 meters apart but ideally on 25
meter or closer centers. Most of this area has been logged so
line cutting is not difficult.
This new grid should be read using both magnetometer and VLF EM
tuned to Cutler, Maine. All four components of the VLF field
should also be measured, these including: field strength/ dip
angle quadrature, and reverse quadrature. Frazer filtering the
dip angle component is not necessary as it obscures the half
cross overs that sometimes identify lateral conductive
structures. Only when the central source of this structure is
identified should horizontal loop EM techniques be used for the
purpose of depth sounding this structure.

Dear Sir,
After receiving the maps detailing your properties we have selected some flight lines from which we have made copies of the analog data traces. Your properties in HOYLE TWSP are covered by flight lines 2560N - 2640N and your properties in WARK TWSP are covered by flight lines 2260N - 2340N. The information can be verified by viewing the 1:20 000 scale maps 81063 and 81072.

* The nearest printed FID, of the 1:20 000 scale maps, from your properties were found.
The copies of the analogs contain two sheets illustrating the legend, common to all traces used. Due to the photocopying technique used the horizontal and vertical scales have been altered. The vertical scales are expressed for each of the sixteen channels in units per cm and the horizontal scale was expressed as 1:30 000 or l cm equals 300 m. The original traces were drawn on a cm gridded background. This gridded background is shown on the photo copied traces. Therefore, the scale expressed as units per cm are units per large division on the copies (see first sheet of legend).
\
Page 2 1988-04-15 A.J. Salo
Each photocopy has the corresponding line number and township recorded on the back of the sheet. Using the fids it should be a simple matter to locate your properties. It should be noted that the entire Timmins survey can be viewed via microfiche at the nearest resident geologist's office.
Yours truly,
