CASTING


MARKING MACHINE

Marking machines permit reliable prod-uct traceability for all semifinished steel products. Alpine Metal Tech covers the complete range of available technol-ogies, from punch marking to metal spray and paint technology.

SHROUD MANIPULATOR

Our shroud manipulators are built with the goal of optimally facilitating shroud handling. They make it possible for operators to estab-lish a straight connection between the ladle slide gate and tundish, which improves the steel quality and prevents reoxidation.

DEBURRER

Deburrers ensure the safe and clean removal of burrs from slabs, blooms, and billets caused by torch cutting. The deburring process is executed during transportation on the roller table without stopping the product.

SCARFING MANUIPULATOR

On the surface area of the casting material, cracks and cavities develop during continous casting. With the scarfing technology surface impurities and the risks resulting from it can be eliminated.

VISION SYSTEM

Our fully automated vision system is used for the tracking and identification of stamped and paint-marked products. The reliable sys-tem offers high reading accuracy and is able to identify alphanumeric characters (OCR), data matrix, bar code, and Philips dot code.

TORCH CUTTING MACHINES

Torch cutting machines are used to cut continuous cast products into defined pieces. This cut is carried out by a high performance nozzle developed by Alpine Metal Tech.

POWDER FEEDER

The Alpine Metal Tech pow-der feeder is designed for the automatic distribution of cast-ing powder in the mold. This ensures constant and uniform mold powder distribution dur-ing the casting process.

PREHATING STATION

Alpine Metal Tech's auto-matic preheating equipment is designed for drying and heating ladle and tundish. A uniform flame distribution allows more effective drying and heating.

Casting

Alpine Metal Tech is the only supplier of a support package for contin-uous casting machines. We call it the Alpine Metal Tech CCM Package.

he Alpine Metal Tech CCM Package supports and optimizes the performance of continuous casting machines and consists of a shroud manipulator, a powder feeder, a preheating station, a torch cutting machine, a deburrer, a marking and reading system, and a sizing and conditioning equipment.

Use of this package ensures a smooth casting process and reliable and eicient cutting, deburring, marking, and reading for semiinished steel products.

he processes in the rolling mill area are becoming more and more complex; accordingly the mechanics, hydraulics and electrics are becoming ever more intertwined. Alpine Metal Tech supports steel-works operators with individual solutions for the new-build sector and for the modernisation of single machines and overall systems including automation, visualisation and network technology. he range of products in detail incorporates technologies for rolling (roll-ing structures for the hot rolling of long products such as proiles, carriers, rails special and rod steels), transporting (roller tables, chain conveyors, manipulators, loading beds, turnover devices and sliding equipment) and processing (cutting, sawing, shearing, cooling and aligning).

Alpine Metal Tech is a technology leader in the development of machines and plants for the rolling of sheet piles and special proiles. In future, sheet piles will increasingly be used as support and casing walls for the construction and extension of port facilities, river drain-age systems and in structural and civil engineering. his technology is increasingly being used to protect and preserve conservation areas and water regulations, e.g. as lood protection for the UNESCO Cultural Heritage site at the lagoon in Venice.
