CO₂ Compressor– tailored for light commercial applications and heat pumps

Our ultra-efficient new CO₂ reciprocating compressor was created in response to increasing customer interest in alternative refrigerants, especially for bottle coolers, vending machines and heat pumps.

This was a special challenge, but one that our engineers responded to with imagination and energy. The unique thermodynamic properties of CO₂ mean that using it as a refrigerant at ambient temperatures above 30°C is tricky. The transcritical system operations required meant we had to create not only a capable compressor, but also a new system control strategy and heat exchanger concept.

as more and more major soft drinks manufacturers demand improved energy efficiency and environmental perform-ance, they are increasingly looking for refrigerantalternatives toHFCs.CO₂hasproved itself a good alternative, creating an excellent, cost-effective solution to this challenge.

Vending machines:

Heatpumps:air or ground sourced heat pumps are highly responsive to energy savings. Compact, lightweight and high-perform-ance designs can be made to deliver high thermal efficiency. By introducing CO₂ as a refrigerant, heat pumps achieve even better results, making CO₂ a good solution for this type of application.
