When I think of summer, images of the beach, barbe-cues, family, and friends all come to mind. Summer is a time of rest, a time to refresh ourselves. In today’s Gospel, Jesus encourages his followers to “come away and rest for a while.” Even Jesus knew the importance of rest. Getting away from the ordinary and the mun-dane is not only good physically, but it is also good psychologically. A change of scenery, making a new acquaintance, or going to a different state or country is good for the mind, body, and soul. In each of us is our inner child. Our inner child wants to explore, learn, and have fun. Sadly, some people lose their zest for life. They give into the ordinary and the mundane and lose the sense of their inner child. Ultimately, God wants us to be happy and wants us to be like little chil-dren. We should take Jesus’ command to heart, “come away and rest for a while.” In doing so, we are not be-ing selfish or extravagant, we are simply giving our mind, body, and soul what they need to be happy.
Regards in Christ,
Father Vincent

PREVENTING SU ICIDE - EVERYONE CAN HELP -
Suicide is a public health problem that can be prevented. Catholic Charities, Diocese of Brooklyn is here to help. First, we must rec-ognize that suicide prevention is everyone’s business. We all know someone who is living with depression or anxiety, has lost a loved one to suicide or is struggling to find mental health or substance use treatment for them-selves or a loved one. Catholic Charities Behavioral Health Clinics offer same-day access to individuals in crisis. Individuals may walk into one of our clinics or may call Catholic Charities at 718-722-6001 for information. The Call Center’s trained in-take specialists will be able to immediately as-sist someone in crisis by linking them to a mental health professional. Diocese of Brooklyn

RECLAIM SEXUAL HEALTH
Many people have found themselves suffering with an addiction to pornography. God says, “My saving power will rise on you like the sun and bring healing like the sun’s rays.” Malachi 4:2. You can overcome pornogra-phy and other unhealthy sexual behaviors with a profes-sional, science-based Catholic program called RECLAIM Sexual Health. (Visit their site www. Reclaimsexual-Health.com). Get help or help others. Private and Anonymous Online Help 24/7. It is the latest Brain Sci-ence cutting-edge technology. Personalized support and Faith Focused. The Brain Science of Change & Theology of the Body is God’s way out. In 1 Corinthians 10:13 it says, “No trial has come to you but what is human, God is faithful and will not let you be tried beyond your strength; but with the trial He will also provide a way out, so that you may be able to bear it.” Pornography is an addiction. It en-slaves the soul and deep shame is connected to it but healing and recovery is possible. If you or someone you know has a porn addiction, p l e a s e l o g o n t o t h e t h e i r w e b s i t e at www.IntegrityRestored.com, designed for those who struggle with pornography use and those who may know of someone who is struggling. Here, you will learn about the pornography epidemic in America and how porn af-fects men, women, children, and teens. You will learn about the addictiveness of pornography and the recovery process. Wives will learn how to help their husbands as well as how to find healing for their own emotional pain (feelings of hurt, betrayal, etc.). The website takes a unique approach by incorporating Catholic spirituality into the recovery process. Porn reduces the human per-son to an object for one’s selfish pleasure which is in di-rect opposition to the beauty of the whole human person that God created in His image and likeness, never to be lusted after but to be loved as a whole person: body, mind and soul.

Be assured that I will pray for whatever you ask, and that our Lord knows what you need even be-fore you ask him.
In Christ,
Father Vincent
