byProf.Dr.RameshTalreja
June,3th-5th2013,attheInstituteforCarbonComposites,TechnischeUniversitätMünchen
TheInstituteforCarbonComposites(LCC)isveryhappytoinviteyoutothis3daycoursewithProf.Dr.RameshTalreja.Thecourseisvaluableforengineersandmaterialsscientistsinindustryandacademia.
Course content (3 days):
Understanding damage and failure of compositemate-rials iscritical for reliableandcost-effectiveengineeringdesign.Bringing togethermaterialsmechanicsandmo-deling,thiscourseprovidesacompactguidetodamage,failureandfatigueofcompositematerials.
Onday 1Prof.Talrejafocusesontheunderlyingprinciplesgoverningcompositedamage,reviewingbasicequationsandmechanicstheory,beforedescribingmechanismsofdamagesuchascracking,breakageandbuckling.
Onday 2,thephysicalmechanismsunderlyingtheforma-tionandprogressionofdamageundermechanicalloadsaredescribedwithampleexperimentaldataandmicro-andmacro-leveldamagemodelsarecombined.
On day 3, fatigue of composite materials is discussedusingfatigue-lifediagrams.
Methodsformorereliabledesignofcompositestructuresarepresented.
