OddsOddsSUCCESS HAS NO ADDRESS,

NO LANDMARK, NO CALLING CARD.

BUT THE PATH IS STEEP,

AND SOME WILL TAKE THE ELEVATOR,

BUT I WILL TAKE THE STAIRS.

SOME WILL GET THERE FASTER,

BUT I WILL GET THERE STRONGER.

AND ADVERSITY WILL BE MY TRAVELLING COMPANION.

BECAUSE WHEN I GET THERE,

I CAN TURN TO ADVERSITY AND SAY, SO LONG.

AND HEAVE THE BAG OF TAUNTS THAT I GATHERED

ALONG THE WAY AND SCATTER THEM TO THE BIRDS.

I WILL MISS THEM,

BUT I WLL FEEL LIGHTER.

YES, THAT WILL BE THE DAY,

WHEN I STAND BY A WINDOW AND UNDRENCH MY FISTS.

FOR THERE WILL BE NO MORE ODDS TO CONQUER,

NOT EVEN IN THE MIND.

I LIKE ODDS, THEY HELP ME GET EVEN!!

SuccessSuccessTo laugh often & love much;

To win respect of Intelligent persons

& the affection of children;

To earn the approval of honest critics

& endure the betrayal of false friends;

To appreciate beauty;

To find the best in others;

To give off ones self without the

Slightest thought of return;

To have accomplished a task, whether

By a healthy child, a rescued soul, a

Garden patch, or redeemed social condition;

To have played & laughed with

Enthusiasm & sung with exaltation;

To know that even one life has breathed

Easier because you have lived;

That is to have Succeeded.

If You ThinkIf You ThinkIf you think you are beaten, you are;

If you think you dare not, you don’t!

If you like to win, but think you cant,

Its almost a cinch you wont.

If you think you’ll lose, you are lost;

For out in the world we find

Success begins with a fellow’s will;

It’s all in the state of one’s mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are,

You have got to think high to rise,

You have got to be sure of yourself before

You can ever win a prize.

Life’s battles don’t always go

To the stronger and faster man,

But sooner or later the man who wins

Is the man who thinks HE CAN!

Don’t QuitDon’t QuitWhen things go wrong

As they sometimes will,

When the road you are trudging seems all uphill,

When the funds are low and debts are high,

And you want to smile, but have to sigh,

When care is pressing you down a bit-

Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,

As every one of us sometimes learns,

And many a failure turns about

When he might have won had he stuck it out.

Don’t give up though the pace seems slow-

U may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out-

The silver tint of clouds of doubt,

And you never can tell how close you are,

It may be near when it seems so far;

So stick to the fight when you are hardest hit

It’s when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

RisksRisksTo laugh is to risk appearing the fool.

To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.

To reach out for another is to risk involvement.

To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self.

To place your ideas, your dreams, before a crowd is to risk their loss.

To love is to risk loved in return.

To live is to risk dying.

To hope is to risk despair.

To try is to risk failure.

But risks must be taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.

The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, & is nothing.

They may avoid suffering and sorrow, but they cannot

learn, feel, change, grow, love or live.

Chained by their attitudes, they are slaves,

They have forfeited their freedom.

Only a person who risks is free.

LuckLuck He worked by dayAnd toiled by night.

He gave up playAnd some delight.Dry books he read,New things to learn.And forged ahead,Success to earn.

He plodded on with Faith and pluck;

And when he won,Men called it luck.

The Road not takenThe Road not taken Two roads diverged in a yellow mood,

And sorry I could not travel both

And be one traveler, long I stood

And looked down to one as far as I could

To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,

And having perhaps the better claim,

Because it was grassy and wanted wear;

Though as for that passing there

Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay

In leaves no step had trodden black.

Oh, I kept the first for another day!

Yet knowing if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh

Somewhere ages and ages hence;

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.
