A Christmas message from Rev. Robert A. Rodriguez,

Dear Parishioners of Saint Rose of Lima and Our Lady of Guadalupe, Merry Christmas and I

pray that you and your family have a blessed 2017.

It is a very exciting time for SRL, OLG, St. Martin de Porres, San Jose, Newman Center and the

four prisons we now serve. I pray all those who assist in our different ministries continue to serve with

Christ as their focus. I thank all ministers who came to the training this past year so that we may make

the Mass a glorious event. When we communicate with each and work with unity in Christ anything is

possible. We serve in the name of Jesus Christ.

Christmas means Christ’s-Mass. The Christmas season begins on Christmas day until January 9th

in which we celebrate the baptism of Jesus Christ. I hope and pray all Christians of the world are able to

freely worship and give thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ without fear of persecution. Our world has rapidly

changed these past years but Jesus Christ is consistent. Let us put our lives in his hand and he will protect

us from all harm. Let us pray this Christmas season that we come together as Catholic Christians and

make a difference in the world.

Please keep in your prayers Sister Chelsea Winsor who has joined the Marian Sisters of Santa

Rosa, please pray for the two men and their wives who are applying for the deaconate program and the

young men in our parish who have said “yes” in their discernment to the priesthood. This is very exciting

news for our parish indeed! God be praised!

I pray for all our couples who came forward in marriage into the Catholic Church and those who

have had their marriage blessed through Convalidation. Thank you for setting the example to those who

are seeking to have God in their lives fully and completely.

This past year we have witnessed the death of some young people in our community. Let us

as Christians go out and spread the word of God with our actions and our prayers to those who

have fallen into darkness and bring the light of Christ into their hearts. Let us assure our young

adults they are not alone.

Let us remember the challenges of the Holy Family and how Joseph and Mary

persevered to raise Jesus as his first teachers. Our own families have many challenges which

face us, let us pray for one another so that we may lead each other to the Grace of God. Fight the

good fight of life and stay strong in your faith. With God as our guide we can’t wrong!

God Bless you from your Pastor
