MONDAY: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM TUESDAY: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM

WEDNESDAY: 8:00 AM – 2:00PM THURSDAY: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM

FRIDAY: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM SATURDAY AND SUNDAY CLOSED

THIRTY-SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIMEFirst Reading: 2 Maccabees 7:1-2, 9-14 A king tortured a Jewish family, and tried to make them violate the laws. They all refused to give in and violate the laws. All of the family members told the king they would rather die at his hands than surrender their hope of being resurrected by God. Second Reading: 2 Thessalonians 2:16—3:5 Paul prays that the Thessalonians will be strengthened by God. He also asks them to pray that God's word will continue to spread, despite the persecution of Christians that was occurring at that time. Gospel: Luke 20:27-38 Jesus encountered some Sadducees who did not believe in resurrection. Jesus refuted them by quoting Moses, who called the Lord the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Jesus then said. "God is not the God of the dead but of the living. All are alive for him."

A FRESH PERSPECTIVE ON THE SUNDAY READINGS HIS WORD TODAY by Rev. William J. Reilly “May the Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting encouragement and good hope through his grace, encourage your hearts and strengthen them in every good deed and word.” How many greeting cards we have sent, how many more have we received. All have some kind of a wish, a message of comfort and sorrow when sickness or death occurs, or congratulations on a birth, birthday or graduation. The card means a lot, and sometimes the message is overlooked. As always we say ‘it’s the thought that counts.’ Paul’s message to his friends contains so much, we might glide past it and miss the point of the sacred scriptures. He reminds us we are loved by God, our Father, and Jesus our Brother, who offer us encouragement and hope through grace, God’s very life. The fruit of that love is found in the gift of encouragement and the strength that comes from His grace, reflected in the good we say and do. Wow! In the ‘Joy of Love’ Pope Francis inspires us to live that grace, first in our family. Where it is absent, introduce it. Where it is real celebrate it and strengthen it. Where we know it is needed bring it to others.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY

Welcome! New parishioners are asked to register by calling or visiting the parish office or by speaking to one of the parish staff. WHY A CATHOLIC CHRISTIAN SHOULD BE A REGISTERED PARISHIONER The precepts of the Church explained that: we need to belong to a parish (your parish is the Church in the City where you are domiciled) and to contribute to its support. Everyone should do this (Canon 107). To identify yourself with a worshipping community of faith. Salvation comes to us by God in community. Religion is not meant to be individualistic. Membership in a parish community is the norm. To allow the priest of the parish to know you so that Letters of Recommendation can be given when needed. (Sponsorship/certificates)

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED EVERY THURSDAY FROM 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM "The Eucharist is connected with the Passion. …To make sure that we do not forget, Jesus gave us the Eucharist as a memorial of his love … When you look at the Crucifix, you understand how much

Jesus loved you then, when you look at the Sacred Host you understand how much Jesus loves you now." Saint Teresa of Calcutta

Terrible Miscalculation

"The terrible miscalculation of young women is that abortion can

make them "un-pregnant," that it will restore them to who they were before their crisis. But a woman is never the same once she is pregnant, whether the child is kept, adopted, or killed. Abortion may be a kind of resolution, but it is not the one the woman most deeply longs for, nor will it even preserve her sense of self." Paul Swope, "Abortion: A Failure to Communicate"

MONTH 1: MY HEART STARTED BEATING TODAY!

During this first month of life, the baby grows to 10,000 times his size at conception. He is totally dependent upon his mother. Between mother and child lies the vital organ called the placenta. Here vessels from mother and

baby intertwine without joining, highlighting this newly formed relationship – mutual nourishing and deeply connected. By the 3rd week the baby’s tiny heart begins to beat.

Prayer of Fulton J. Sheen

Jesus, Mary and Joseph I love you very much. I beg you to spare the life of the preborn child that I have spiritually adopted who is in danger of abortion. “Before I formed you in the womb,

I knew you” (Jeremiah 1:5)

OUR LADY OF FATIMA

St. Jude’s Church will have on display, the statue of Our Lady of Fatima. Thursday evening, November 17, 2016

From 6:00 – 8:30PM. The Statue of Fatima, and the Relics will be accompanied by Mrs. Judith Studer who is the designated custodian. She will stay with the statue for the duration and will be at each spiritual site. She will have Rosaries, crosses, and Prayers to offer for sale. Proceeds help the mission of bringing the Fatima statue around the world. O Most Holy Virgin Mary, Queen of the most holy Rosary, you

were pleased to appear to the children of Fatima and reveal a glorious message. We implore you, inspire in our hearts a fervent love for the recitation of the Rosary. By meditating on the mysteries of the redemption that are recalled therein may we obtain the graces and virtues that we ask, through the merits of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer.
