• Regional Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Programme in the Near East• Regional capacities for the conservation and sustainable management of

wildlife and protected areas in the Near East• Support to staple crop production (wheat and barley seeds) for the food

and nutrition security of more than 266 000 people (38 000 households)• Support to Backyard food production (poultry and vegetable) for the food

and nutrition security of more than 250 000 people (15 800 households)• Emergency support to small-scale herders, contributed to protect more

than 2. 5 million livestock against ecto endo parasites

PREPARE AND RESPOND TO CRISES

• FAO Supported Ministry of Agriculture to prepare a National Contingency plan for wheat rust disease control (2011)

• FAO supported the UNCT to develop a contingency plan for High food prices (2012 and 2013) to address the crisis
