Note: (Malibu and G6 only)•The Driver Information Center and radio are one unit. Removal of the radiowill prohibit the vehicle owner from programming any of the features of theDriver Information Center. However once the features are programmed thevehicle will retain all the settings. An alternative kit 99-3303 inludes a replacement driver information center with programming capabilities.

The 99-3303 does not allow for Double DIN installations.

• Refer also to the instructions included with the aftermarket radio.

Disconnect the negative battery ter-minal to prevent an accidental shortcircuit.

Unclip and remove trim panel fromabove glove box. (Figure A)

Unclip upper edge of panel belowsteering column and let hang. Notnecessary to remove completely.(Figure B)

Unclip and remove small trim panel toright of ignition switch. (Figure C)

4

Unclip and remove trim panel sur-rounding radio and climate controls.(Figure D)

5

Remove (4) 9/32 screws securingradio. Unplug and remove the radio.(Figure E)

Unsnap panel below power windowswitch and remove. Note: Thisallows you to unplug the windowswitch easier. (Figure A)

Unsnap and remove entire panel sur-rounding radio and shifter. (Figure B)

Unclip and remove wood grain/paint-ed trim pieces from both sides ofsteering wheel. (Figure A)

Unclip and remove side panel fromdriver’s side of dash with door openand remove (2) 7 MM screws.(Figure B)

Remove (2) 7 MM screws from bot-tom edge of panel below steeringwheel, unclip panel and let hang. Itis not necessary to completelyremove panel. (Figure C)

Remove (2) 7 MM screws from bot-tom of glove box then open box andsqueeze sides together to open fur-ther and remove the remaining (4)7MM screws. Unclip the black ventcover under the glove box then unclipand remove entire glove box assem-bly. (Figure F)

Remove (4) 7 MM screws securingthe radio and (2) 7 MM screws secur-ing the climate control. Unplug andremove the radio. (Figure H)

A. Lift up the lower edge of theinstrument panel cluster trim plateenough to reach underneath andrelease the shift boot trim ringretaining tabs. (Figure A)B. Lift up on the shift boot andloosen the setscrew to release theshift lever. (Figure B)

Open the glove box and disconnectthe glove box dampener from theglove box assembly. Squeeze sidestogether to open further. (Figure C)

Remove (2) bolt covers from topedge of glove box frame. (Figure C)

Remove (5) bolts from glove boxframe and remove frame. (Figure C)

Unsnap and remove climate controltrim panel. (Figure D)

Remove (1) screw from lower leftcorner of radio trim panel andunplug connectors to remove panel. (Figure D)

Grasp the front edge of the shiftertrim panel and pull outward andupward. (Figure A)

Squeeze the locking tabs located atthe front edge of the shifter trimpanel together to release the frontedge of the panel from the centerconsole. (Figure B)

Pull upward on the panel to releasethe remaining clips, and remove trimpanel.

Remove (4) screws securing storagepocket and remove pocket. (Figure C)

Unclip and remove center dash trimpanel. (Figure D)

DOUBLE DIN MOUNT RADIO PROVISION

Slide the appropriate bracket into the trimplate aligning the holes in the trim plate tothe clips on the bracket. (Figure A)

Slide the DDIN radio unit into the trim platebracket assembly and secure the unit to thekit using the screws supplied with the headunit. (Figure B)

Aura, Cobalt, G5, HHR,Sky and Vue only:Cut and remove top mounting tabs oneach side of the Radio Housing.(Figure C)

Continue to final assembly.

*Note: Refer also to the instructions included with the aftermarket radio.

STACKED ISO MOUNT RADIO PROVISION

Slide the appropriate bracket into the trimplate aligning the holes in the trim plate tothe clips on the bracket. (Figure A)

Slide the stacked ISO DIN units into the trimplate bracket assembly and secure the unitsto the kit using the screws supplied withthe head units. (Figure B)

Continue to final assembly.

*Note: Refer also to the instructions included with the aftermarket radio.

Locate the factory wiring harness in the dash. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapter and making connections as shown. (Isolate and individ-ually tape off the ends of any unused wires to prevent electrical short circuit.)

Re-connect the negative battery terminal and test the unit for proper operation.

Reassemble radio and dash assemblies in reverse order of disassembly.

FINAL WIRING CONNECTIONS

Make wiring connections using the EIA color code chart shown below and the instructions included with thehead unit. Metra recommends making connections as shown below; Strip, Splice, Solder, Tape. Isolate and

individually tape off ends of any unused wires to prevent electrical short circuit.
