    November 2015 through Summer 2016*• First major construction activity of subway at La Brea.

    • Length of pile installation will be on Wilshire from Orange Dr.

    to Detroit St.

    • Pile installation includes:

     – Rig to construct 95ft (L) deep hole on 7 center to center spacing

     – Crane lifting 95Ft (L) , 24 Inch H-piles into holes

     – 1-2 piles per day, 390 piles total

     – Drilling, pile installation and backfilled concrete completed same

    day

    • All work occurs behind a k-rail.

    • Operation anticipated to take approximately 4-6 months on

    each side of the street.• Typical works hours 7am-11pm.

    • Wilshire will be reduced to two lanes each way during

    • After concrete panels are installed, traffic can travel over the

    surface while the station is constructed underground.

    • Will follow pile operations; anticipated spring 2016

     – 7 days a week, 7am-11pm above deck, 11pm-7am below deck

    11 p.m. Activities are monitored throughout each shift.

    • Torch cutters used in place of traditional plate cutters.

    • Sound blankets shifted and additional blankets added when needed.

    • Low impact back up alarms installed on mobile equipment for night work.

    • Battery powered (solar charged) lights eliminate noise from generators.

    The FCCP committee members meet every 2 months to discuss and

    review the specifics of local construction relating to timelines and

    • Small “mom and pop” business with 25 or fewer total employees • Businesses located immediately adjacent to the rail corridor and

    directly impacted by Metro construction

    • For-profit business or non-religious, non-profit

    •Continuous operation for at least 2 years along the corridor

    • Must be a solvent business

    • Must be able to produce relevant financial records demonstratinga loss of business revenue directly related to period of Metro’sconstruction disruption

    • Must be in good standing with all local, state and federal taxingand licensing authorities

    • Must meet all technical qualifications as outlined in Metro’s BIFAdministrative Guidelines
