One of Austin’s best-known television newsanchors and reporters died Wednesday morningafter a brief illness. Dick Ellis, 69, who anchored KVUE’s newscaststhroughout the 1980s and early 1990s, hadrecently returned to KVUE to work on a series ofspecial news reports about unsolved crime casesin the Austin-area.

Thousands of people flock to Zilker Park for the freeannual summertime concerts. Bring blankets, lawn chairs,cold beverages, dogs, kids, and friends to enjoy the city’slargest free concert series. The music starts at 8 p.m.,but it is recommended to get there early to snag a goodspot because the park fills up fast. The stage is locatedon the east end of Zilker Park at Lou Neff Road. There islimited parking at Zilker Park, but there is a $15 parkingpass available online.
